"The location is perfect in Tahoe City, right across the street from The Commons. It was close to great food, drinks and bakery’s. I stayed in room 8, which was on the top floor. The room was spotless, the bedding very comfortable and of high quality. I slept really well and it was very quiet. I appreciated the shampoo, body lotion and conditioner. "Silver Lake is a beautiful location and having cabins to rent on the lake side is pretty special. The cabins are old and rather quirky, but you can over look some inconveniences, like luke warm water, missing chairs for dining, no plugs in the sinks and even a mouse in your room. But when we checked in they charge me for the room even though I had paid for it . I had to find my credit card bill to show I had paid for the room. Once I showed them my credit card statement they refunded the money...

"The overall condition and cleanliness was a big issue for me. The room has seen better days and definitely needs help. In the meantime a deep clean, I won’t go into detail as far as what I found, but it was enough that I won’t stay here again. The minimal contact I had with staff was unimpressive. The hotel and parking lot are run down and not well maintained, too many negatives to go back."

"After reading all the positive reviews I was expecting a room that was remodeled motel room. It was musty, stains on carpet, old fridge and the door needed painting. The nice thing is once it gets dark, you don't see all the scuffs. The only good thing were the beds and linens. Even the towels and wash cloths needed replacing. I don't think I will return"

"Nice location by a walking path. Felt safe/secure. Free parking during stay. Near bear area- don’t plan to leave food in car. Had a bit of a view of the lake from the patio. Be aware that patio is accessible to neighbors’ kids/pets since lower part is open. Front desk open until 9:30-ish. No one present later as expected."

"The room was tidy but the bedsheets had a cigarette burn on them, and there was a hole on the wall near the floor bigger than a golf ball.
The bathroom had brown splatter near the baseboards, and there was dirty paper towels scrunched under the sink. There was also no extra toilet paper other than the one provided. Also the bathroom window didn’t have a screen and the window wouldn’t stay open by itself so we put a bottle to hold it open.
The front desk was kind and helpful."
