"Room was fine and beds were comfy"

"We stayed at Woodhall hotel and spa for 4 nights in the lodges. There was not much natural light entering the room and noise can be heard from the adjoining room The building could do with some refurbishment The views and gardens are beautiful The staff were really excellent and nothing was too much trouble The food was equally good with some fabulous combinations and flavours and, they have an interesting wine list, if slightly on the pricey side. Overall we enjoyed our stay. Thank you"

"Room was lovely, but the mattress was obviously old as it sagged in the middle. The hotel is right on a main road so a lot of noise and music playing till very late in the evening. It’s ok for an overnight stay but wouldn’t recommend longer"

"This is a wonderful guesthouse. The location was ideal for us less than a 10 minute walk into the town centre. The room was very comfortable with fantastic tea and coffee facilities. It was quiet and well decorated. We parked on the road outside the guesthouse and were provided with a permit that was valid until midday. There is a wonderful café just across the road that is well worth visiting as well."

"The property itself was well presented and clean, and the room was also clean on arrival. However, we had booked a "Luxury King Room" and felt the description was somewhat misleading. The bed was actually a double rather than a king-size bed (which I later noticed is stated in the room details), so the room name itself felt confusing. I’d also say the "luxury" description was an overstatement, as the room felt more basic/average than expected. Unfortunately, we had quite a poor night's sleep....

"The hotel provides a very positive initial visual experience with very well decorated and maintained general areas restaurants and bedrooms However an unadvertised demand for a parking fee (£10 / 24 hrs) immediately on arrival before we’d even unloaded all bags from our car did not go down well including the surly way this was demanded As we’d been travelling for several days we had a lot of baggage and had to search for a luggage trolley (no assistance offered) which I then had to get into the...

"Our booking was made in February 2026 and we arrived to find we were not staying in the hotel but in an adjacent building 100 yards away which housed apartments. The weekend was to celebrate my 80th birthday and luckily I am sufficiently agile to overcome the steps getting into the apartment. It could possibly have been more convenient and cheaper to have booked a nearby travel lodge."

"Breakfast was really nice and fresh. Parking is tight and £15 per night for guests. No air con in rooms so they get very warm. We were above the pub entrance area on the 2nd floor so noisy around 7am. In a great location for the centre of Harrogate and would stay again and ask for a room on the front where it’s likely to be less noisy"

"Really well placed for shops and pubs/restaurants etc., whilst still on a quiet enough residential street. After a very long journey in the heat really didn't want to get the car out again and was able to walk to the Tesco Express and back in less than ten minutes. Check-in and communication with host was great - we phoned twice and the call was answered immediately both times. We were put into a different house on arrival to what we'd expected but this was no problem and probably better than...

The bathroom and toilet are en-suite… with a bold, open-plan concept (no door), which may surprise you at first, but you quickly adapt and start questioning why doors were ever invented. The owner is friendly, helpful, and professional—exactly the kind of person you hope to meet after a long trip. The kitchen doesn’t have a microwave, so no late-night...

"The room was clean, with a few small rubbish from previous guest. The room itself is quite dated, but that is the nature of the building. The staff were excellent, very welcoming and cheerful. They deserve great praise. Wifi was reliable. The breakfast was tasty and a classic full English breakfast. Coffee machines provided tasty coffee too."
