Be prepared to wait 15 minutes to take a 'tram' that travels at 1MPH with no AC to your room. You alternative is to talk a half a mile (no joke) to your room with your bags. The towels are not located by the pool, there's no water jugs on the facility and the drinking fountains didn't work. The property is beautiful, but cumbersome to walk around. If you like to spend 1-2 hours a day walking, then maybe you'd love it.

This place was pretty nice, especially considering the price and the price of other hotels around. The hotel itself looks a little dated but is currently undergoing a remodel, however, we did not have a remodeled room. With that said, there was a bit of construction on our side of the hotel so it was a tad noisy during the day. One of the few drawbacks to this place is the property is so big that there is a tram that goes between the hotel towers and it isn’t exactly fast. Overall, the ocean tower at the Hilton WAIKOLOA was pretty good value. We had a lovely oceanfront view to wake up to in the morning so it was worth it.

The house keeping will not change your bed sheets until you ask them. The floor was sticky and dirty. The rooms don’t look sanitized. Overall other things were okay.

I’m soooo glad we stayed at the Ocean Towers in Waikoloa! Some reviews made me nervous but I’m glad I ignored them. We had a one bedroom plus, so we had a full kitchen. It was almost half the cost of the two other Hilton hotels of the resort and we had twice the space. Our room was completely remodeled, the hotel looks like it was all new. Absolutely beautiful and well thought out. Staff were always kind and helpful. We were right by a nice pool and a quick walk to the lagoon. The larger pool was about a ten minute walk (through beautiful grounds) or an easy tram or boat ride. So convenient! I only wish the restaurants stayed open later, but other than that it was perfect! We will go again!

The hotel room was just alright, however the property grounds and amenities were awesome! When booking the Expedia ad said new construction but the room was outdated and old. The bed was as hard as a rock! Sincerely one of the worst bed I’ve slept in. However, the property grounds and amenities were great for the kids and family.

Pros: We loved our stay here. It is very kid friendly and They have a lot of activities. The snorkeling in the lagoon is top notch. We saw so many turtles, fish, sting rays, and even a seal. Negatives: It is a very big resort so it’s a lot of walking but they offer a tram that is super slow or a boat. The food options are very limited. The restaurants are great, just pricey. The breakfast buffet is a 0/5. It is $55 a person and it’s just gross hotel breakfast food. If you go Thursday morning at 8, you might be able to see the dolphin show while eating tho. They also need more convient stores like an ABC store with abc store pricing. Lastly our hotel room was not yet renovated in the ocean tower but we had a good location and view of pool and partial ocean.

Absolutely gorgeous property! We loved the Dolphins on site every day. Multiple pools, dining options, and our view was incredible. We watched Whales from our Balcony! We had an Golf Course and Ocean View!

I really wanted to like this property. I think the goal is try to have as little as service as possible. Power went out while my son was showering and then again a couple hours later. No bedding for the second bed. House cleaning didn’t show up. I was polite and asked them to check the power and for house cleaning. Second day same thing. Great for some but will not return.

It's a huge property. There is a tram that can take you around the property, but don't be in a hurry. We had a great ocean front room in the towers, but it was 0.6 of a mile from our room to the front lobby. We enjoyed the walk around the beautiful grounds, but if your mobility is limited it could be a problem.

The place beautiful, but getting to the Ocean Towers was kind of a pain. It is a long walk or you need to take the tram. Parking is expensive and self parking is OK if you don't have a luggage. The room was comfortable and the view was excellent.

This place is a dream. It is way bigger and even more beautiful than expected. Staff was great and the food was great too. The view from our ocean view balcony was great. We saw whales every single morning during our stay.

Incredibly overpriced. Parking $55 on top of $340 for one night in a dated room, and we still had to take the monorail to our room from the valet parking desk. Felt really ripped off staying here but didn't really have a choice for one night only in the area.

Food was good. Took one hour to get checked in. Tram was broken and no one was told so we sat waiting for about 20 minutes. Also parking is on the whole other side of the property. Would go somewhere else in the future.

Beautiful resort which starts to show its age when you look closer. Be ready to walk a lot if you are not patient enough for their free (inside the resort) transportation options. We love to watch the humpback whales. Expect overpriced restaurants inside the resort. Sadly not much of good public transportation options outside of the resort.

Place is wonderful not crowded and very peaceful. Good to get away. Shopping area is like a mile walk, quite tiring lol. I’m not sure if Hotel offer shuttle service to and from. Overall I had a great stay.

The beds were a bit hard but I was really disappointed that the maids did’t fill the lotion container or leave me more tea after I drank the first 2. Also they took the towels and floor mat and didn’t leave a new floor mat for the shower . Thank you

We had little cockroch like bugs all over the room got there at waited an hour for luggage and left at 4 am cause of the bugs .will not recommend this place to anyone. The restaurants were closed when we went to get food.

The property was well kept and had some free amenities. We had two hotel rooms one for my partner and myself and the other for my father and his friend. After the first night we both experienced rooms full of roaches and “cleaning” of the rooms consisted of the bed being made - no sheet change, no towel change. You had to do those yourself. When the roach situation was addressed the hotel did take our resort fees off of our bill but they only offered to move my fathers room. They had no other rooms available and only offered to spray the room for roaches. I would not stay here again.

Had to catch a tram to check in at Ocean Tower, which is 10-15 minutes from main lobby. Very inconvenient. Check in for Ocean Tower should be in the main lobby.

we are in our late 70s and it was really hard to get around particularly from our room. too far to walk to anything and up and down stairs to get to the tram and then down a long hallway to the nearest elevator. If I wanted to find a convenience store we had no idea where it was and the ice machine was on the forth floor because the one on the third floor was broken. We had to take the stairs and that was difficult too. The tram was hard to get to from our room and it took too long to get to the main lobby. We live in Hilo and would never come back here.

Upon arriving at the resort, we were surprised by an unexpected $48 daily charge for parking. The online booking showcased rooms that turned out to be timeshare accommodations, which we wouldn't have chosen had the accurate options been presented. Upon entering our room, we discovered multiple spider webs in the corners, an issue that surprised us. Despite notifying the front desk, they showed little concern and didn't offer to address the situation promptly. While our ocean view was perfect, dirty windows hindered our visibility. After multiple requests, the cleaning was done three days into our stay, significantly improving the view. Towel machines were consistently empty in the mornings, with staff claiming they didn't start until 9 am. The resort's transportation, including trams and boats, faced issues, leading to inconveniently long wait times and difficulty accessing amenities. Notably, the lack of umbrellas at the pool, absence of microwaves in the room, no water fill-up stations, and limited ice machines on each floor added to the overall dissatisfaction with the resort experience.

Beautiful grounds with ugly uncomfortable rooms.
Very dated room. Late 80s early 90s never been updated. No where near the equivalent of the grounds. Mold smell. Cockroaches - yuck! Cold water never ran cold. Always warm. Toilet flusher had to be held down for a few seconds to flush. Shower has the cold and hot reversed. Thermostat took 10 hours to cool the room. Beds very uncomfortable.

The property is great. Beautiful. If you are not planning to explore the island, and are willing to pay for meals on location then take a taxi up and back. $65. If you rent a car parking is $45. A day. Breakfast on site $52. A pizza $34. Dinner? 20 min. Walk to Waikoloa is 20 min. Shuttle is $5. Ea. One way.
