What an amazing place! The grounds were just stunning and we were thrilled to have still been able to enjoy the pool in October. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were the most spacious I have had in my 2 weeks in Europe. Bartender can whip some unique cocktails for you as well. Would definitely come again.

Lovely Hotel
Lovely hotel and lovely helpful staff. Good breakfast. Lovely pool. No English tv except news. subtitles etc locked so can’t choose any other languages. Really would be good if they could provide for English people. They should be able to provide this service even if there was a pay to view option. Apart from the tv the hotel & location is fabulous!

We have stayed here many times. It is a beautiful hotel with a great staff. Love the pool, lunch at the pool, drinks at the bar, and the great and extensive breakfast. Rooms are very comfortable also. Will be back again next year

Old Italy meets Great Gatsby
I loved this place, felt like something from an old film. My teens were even a little "wowed" by the place. The breakfast was great, something for everyone. The pool wa great and of course access to the beach. Great place to spend 2 nights

four star all the way !
fantastic beach hotel with large pool, excellent service staff, fantastic breakfast, and a wonderful property. the only complaint is that the shower stall was a booth so small I could hardly move inside… and the hotel should use a lot less one-use plastic in the rooms.

Excellent staff and location and amenities. Rental bikes are available and pool area is amazing. Only complaint is be aware of the cold eggs for breakfast and cold bacon, don't know why they can't fix this. It was every morning, otherwise a rating of 10.

Quality hotel.
The Grand Royal is a top quality hotel. It may be hard to better in Viareggio. Every member of staff I encountered were so helpful and pleasant. My room was a sea view with a balcony and it was perfect. Great pool and pool area, nice and tranquil. Breakfast is plentiful with a choice to suit anyone. No downsides and I will definitely return. Highly recommended.

Excellent location and great views from the sea view rooms. We would have considered using the restaurant for dinner but the menu was limited and copies posted in the reception area were in Italian.

Beautiful hotel but hard beds
Hotel, room and staff amazing. Incredibly hard beds so after 6 nights we were both quite sore, achy and tired after 6 uncomfortable nights!
