"While the front of the property is unassuming, the inside is spacious and the view is fantastic. Easy check in, and a nice grassy area behind to string up the hammock and read a book. Only suggestion would be to provide additional door stoppers for the beds as they roll very easily on the tile! Doggo and I had a great time, will certainly use this facility again. "

"Want to relax? Not the place. Rooms poorly insulated, you can hear all the neighbours. The mattress is so soft you feel you’re drowning on it. Cleaning is not an option - room full of dirt- and the hotel charges for housekeeping as an additional! (I wanted to do my own housekeeping I would have got an AirBnB). "You get the entire detached house next to the winery all to yourself. It may show a bit of age in places, but honestly, it feels almost too luxurious for the price. The house comes with four beds, a dining area, kitchen, living room, a saltwater pool, and even a billiards table. We were charged $500 for carpet cleaning due to a small food stain (blueberries). While I acknowledge the stain occurred, the charge was completely disproportionate. A full carpet steam clean was done by an external contractor at a cost of $500, with no attempt to consider a more reasonable solution like spot cleaning. "The room was clean but should not be classified as a 2 bedroom. It’s one room with partitions that don’t go to the ceiling that separate the rooms. Villas overlook main road and noise from traffic could be heard. The queen bed was like sleeping on a wooden plank. Bathroom had tiles separating, and laminate stuck to the wall with tape. Outdoor areas look dated back to the 80’s, the whole place needs a lot of maintenance. Not worth the $400 a night, more like $200 at best, if it was in better...

"Abermain was a fantastic hotel. Great location to be close to the wineries in Pokolbin and Lovedale. Room was clean and it’s situated in a hotel that is 115 years old. We were worried about the shared bathroom but it was totally fine. The bar food looked great, even though we didn’t indulge after a day at the wineries. Would definitely come back to the Abermain. "
