You definitely need uber, your own car or be knowledgeable to public bus. Room windows were towards a high traffic street. The mattress was in poor conditions, it was all inclined towards one side, like sleeping in a hole. "We stayed at Eurostars Porto Douro for three nights in December and had a very pleasant experience. The breakfast was a highlight, with an excellent variety including hot dishes like eggs and roasted vegetables, fresh fruit and vegetables, cheeses, yogurt with toppings, pastries, breads, juices, and good coffee. Our room had a lovely river view, and we appreciated being able to open the windows for fresh air. The staff were very attentive. Overall, a comfortable and enjoyable stay."
