Villa Arya has only five rooms, so it's self-contained and private. It is set back off the main road (making it somewhat complex to find, but not impossible), making it quiet and relatively secluded. It is one of the few places we actually received a welcome drink and very quickly too, also the drink was a little more inspired than just an orange cordial! The check-in was quick and the staff are fantastic! A friendlier welcome we have not had in Bali before and we have travelled here frequently. Anything you could need, the staff would get it for you and the communication was great although I speak some Indonesian. It's quite a hike to Ubud, but the staff went and got takeaway for us and there are reasonable snacks purchasable directly from the kitchen there. There is a shuttle service available into Ubud and alot of restaurants there will deliver now. Yay Pizza bagus started it all and they're still making great traditional style pizzas for great prices!!!
We only stayed one night at Villa Arya, but we could have stayed longer there. We probably had just about the best room in the complex, think it's called Saatiya suite; it has quite a large balcony with a lovely view and is perfect for breakfast although you may eat breakfast in the game too. All in all, I would recommend Villa Arya and I would stay again, but I was disappointed that the place was in need of some tlc or maintenance, particularly the decking round the pool which would not be suitable if small chil
