"Place was so welcoming and inviting with a very cozy living room/front desk area. Fun Appalachian/Black Bear (“Appy”) theme all throughout hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful—even got an earring for me that had fallen down the drain. Adirondack chairs out front to enjoy view from. Swimming pool looked super fun with an swirly tube slide and fountain in the middle. Continental Breakfast included but there was also a Flapjacks restaurant next door. Also great about this place is that it’s near to all the crazy fun but also slightly off the beaten track, and, therefore, calmer, more peaceful. Also had a Davy Crockett Mini golf course practically on the property but tucked to the side —not noisy. Rooms well appointed and beds cozy and comfy. Highly recommend for singles, couples or families."

"This is a great hotel. Been staying there since it was opened in the 70s. Was glad to see it was refurbished years ago. Rooms are large and beds are comfortable. Climate control worked well. Ample parking. Staff was very attentive. Good location away from the bustle of downtown Gatlinburg but right on the free trolley stop."

"Room was clean and parking was plenty and easy to find. Breakfast was ok, it didn’t change from one day to the next but it’s a quick place to grab something before going about your adventures. The free trolley to take you all over Gatlinburg is right in front of the hotel. It’s very close to the places to go to such as Annekesta and skypark. Not too far away either from the trails of Smokey Mountain National Park"
