Tourist Corridor

Travel Guide

A coastal resort with a sandy beach, clear blue waters, and a backdrop of mountains and residential buildings.
A beach with clear turquoise water, a rocky hill, and a few people on the sand.
A golf course with a clear view of the ocean and palm trees.
A person floating in clear turquoise water.
A beach at sunset with calm waters and footprints in the sand.

Go beach hopping, try adventure sports, play 18 holes at luxury golf clubs and stay overnight at celebrity hangouts.

Discover beautiful beaches, luxury hotels, varied watersports and world-class golfing when you visit the Tourist Corridor, a gateway to the attractions of Los Cabos. Nestled between the Sea of Cortez and the foothills of the Sierra de la Laguna Mountains, this 20-mile (33-kilometer) long stretch of coastline connects the resort cities of Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo.

You can spend weeks visiting the Tourist Corridor’s different beaches, each of which has its own distinct landscape and charm. Surf the rolling waves at Costa Azul Beach and Monuments Beach, situated at the northern and southern extremes of the corridor respectively. The calm waters of Chileno Beach, Santa Maria Beach and Whale’s Head Beach invite you yo go swimming and snorkeling. Spot celebrities coming out of the high-end resorts at pretty Palmilla Beach.

With around a dozen courses, the area is a paradise for golfers. Several have been designed by notable figures from the world of golf such as Greg Norman and Tom Fazio. Your hardest job will be to avoid being distracted from your shots by the gorgeous mountain and coastal backdrops.

Find more outdoor fun at Wild Canyon Adventures, where you can try bungee jumping and zip lining.

Treat yourself to an evening of indulgence at one of the resort-style hotels located on the beachfronts. Choose between all-inclusive, adult-only and boutique options. The village of Palmilla was home to the corridor’s first upscale accommodations, which opened in 1956 and went on to attract Hollywood stars such as Bing Crosby and Elizabeth Taylor. Cabo Bello, close to Cabo San Lucas, is another popular area to stay.

Federal Highway 1 cuts through the Tourist Corridor between Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo. Parking is available at hotels and most of the beaches. Many of the hotels offer airport transfers to and from Cabo San Lucas International Airport and Los Cabos International Airport.
