"The staff at the hotel was wonderful and they were always friendly and willing to offer assistance. The hotel is beautiful and directly in the historic city center. The free breakfast was delicious and so was the restaurant. Loved the hotel! Expedia should have notified us that there was a huge protest (with noise) out in front of the hotel and the Zocolo was closed to access. The Zocolo was one of the main reasons we stayed in this area, so we were disappointed. "

"This hotel has ruined me for all other hotels! This boutique hotel was a peak experience for our stay in Mexico City. It is located on a lovely, quiet street, only about a 10 minute walk to the historic city center sights of the Cathedral, the Zocalo, and Templo Mayor. The surrounding streets are pulsing with foot traffic and small shops. It is not tourist territory and it feels very safe, even as night falls. The hotel itself is gorgeous architecturally."

There was a citywide protest occurring with thousands of teachers living in tents lining all of the streets and blocking all of the roadways. There is absolutely no access to the hotel by car presently. Expect to walk 10 to 30 minutes depending on where your taxi gets blocked by the road closures.
