I stayed at Ximengding Xining Branch. The hotel is within a walking distance to train stations and Ximengding. There are plenty restaurants nearby. Excellent location and the staff is friendly. The hotel room is small and basic. It’s ok if you are out most of the time. The carpet looks worn out. I would not recommend walking with barefoot. Overall, I had a pleasant stay.

There’s only one person working at the front desk. Just as we went in to check in, he was leaving for a smoke. He said someone would be there shortly to help. He knew he was the only one working but decided to lie (not good). The original room they provided had a bath (yay!) but it stank of fish. We told the receptionist who said they could clean it out in an hour. We asked for a different room - it was smaller and no bath. You request for the room to be cleaned which I think is great - saves a lot of unnecessary work - but cleaning of the room involves only changing of the towels and refilling soap and shampoo - no sweeping of the floor or changing sheets. Shower takes about 5-8 minutes to get warm - would advice you to turn on the shower to hot as soon as you get in then start unpacking from your day. We stayed in December - room gets quite cold. Very convenient location - breakfast places just downstairs and right next to Ximen night market.

Simple no frills lodging place

It’s a very comfortable & clean Room no. 313 that we stayed. It’s just right behind the counter. NOTE:: if you are checking in to this Xining Branch before 3pm, you’ve to leave the luggages at the Ximen Branch as there is no counter service. The reception area is also a service area with amenities like water cooler, tidbits and tea bags. Expect no grandeur of a lobby of a hotel as this is just a room only lodging place.

Front desk guy was really friendly, helpful and courteous. He hold the luggages for us when our room is not ready and brought it to our room. At the end of the stay. He called transportation and brought your luggages down to the car. That was out of his way to be exceptional.

We stayed here for 3 nights and it was just OK. The property felt dated, wallpaper is ripping off, front of building smells like smoke, and the shower head did not fit properly on the fixture so it was constantly moving around. The toilet seat also did not fit the toilet as it was too small. The body wash barely generated foam. It was nice they had a washer and dryer on property, too bad the dryer only dries for 25 minutes so you have to pay for 2-3 dries for clothes to be dried. Older lady at front desk is very friendly and nice. We chose this property because of value and location, but will likely pick a different hotel next time as it felt more like a 1-2 star hotel.

Had a 4 night stay here. Room was bigger than expected, which is a plus. Window was pretty small, but was sufficient to let in light to brighten the room. There is also a hot and cold water dispenser at the reception area. Toilet was kind of cramp, but facilities were in working order. Great water pressure and hot water. However, I do not understand the notice on the door which says that the towels are not for hair drying, and that toilet paper is not to be disposed of in the toiletbowl. The toilet does not have a bidet. Wifi was strong and stable. Location is good too. About 3 mins to the bus stations, 5 mins walk to Ximen Station, 10 mins to Taoyuan Airport MRT, 15 mins walk to Taipei Main station, and 20 mins walk to NTU Hospital Station. But do take note that there are 2 Muzik hotels. I think many people got lost and went to the one nearer to Ximen Station. But the staff is friendly and will guide you on the correct path. Being in Ximen, there are tons of food and shopping options. You will not go hungry here. Will come back here again.

What was nice about the hotel was its spacious rooms and its location near local restos, there’s a 7/11 across, and proximity to the Ximending Market. It’s a 9min walk to Ximen station. What I didn’t like was there were no usual daily amenities. Upon check-in there was a one time free 2 bottles of water and some snacks but no coffee, no room slippers, no bath amenities like toothbrush except for the soap and shampoo in dispensers. When we asked to change towels, the housekeeping said “no”. We stayed for 6 days! We needed to change towels. Check-in was cool, there was a self-check-in machine that dispenses your keycards. Quick and smooth check-out too.
