"We were passing through York after staying in Edinburgh and found the Impossible Motel. We only stayed for 1 night but the room was great with a really comfy bed and soft bedding. Great location and close to the shambles Q park for ease of parking which was really secure and easy to find. Staff welcoming, warm and friendly and a great ambience. We look forward to staying again when we're in York."

"Everything was fine. The location was very good for accessing the visitor areas of the city. The staff was professional although not overly friendly. The buffet was nice. "

"Wanted to give the hotel 5 stars. Just a couple of niggles which you would not expect of a 4-star hotel in the centre of York. Staff lovely and friendly, breakfast fresh and delicious with a good choice. Rooms have a unique design of what can only be described as an open plan bathroom. I didn't mind it but I can see how others might. Bed big and comfy. Niggles included dust on cups and spoons, only enough shower gel for 1 shower, empty tissue box and a dirty towel (1 of 4). All put right at the first request but should not be needed in a 4-star hotel. Great location for city centre attractions. A little more attention to detail and it would have been 5 stars."

"Stayed in the Guy Fawkes room overlooking the outside restaurant terrace. The room was small but efficient. Nice walk-in shower and bed was comfortable. A fan was available as it did not have air conditioning but it did not need it. The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was wonderful and everything was fresh and local. The breakfast shots (orange juice, ginger, turmeric) was delicious."
