"First visit to Bowes incline and won't be the last.If it was on 4 in bed program I could be hyper critical on a couple of issues but I'm not.I always give a fair and balanced review's and this is what I'm doing,first impression of hotel was clean and well maintained,staff on reception were friendly and welcoming explained breakfast set up and evening meals.rooms are small but cozy for two and well appointed .can get a bit noisy in morning when people going for breakfast with doors...

"Lumley Castle is steeped in history. The layout of the communal rooms is a little random and not brilliantly signposted. Staff are all very helpful. Restaurant was good quality. Breakfast good. The rooms lack a few amenities like usb or even plugs by the bed. Soap and shampoo is all that is provided in the bathrooms, which is unusual for a more luxury branded hotel. All small things but would make a difference. but overall it was a very pleasant stay."

"Check in was quick and easy. Staff were helpful and polite, even moved me from a room in the inn to an annexe room so I could be away from noise from bar. Also had a very good breakfast which is extra but excellent value for money. Definitely recommend it hotel and breakfast."

"Room was big and the bed was big. Very clean throughout. The walls and headboards were a little tired looking. Our first room had faulty air con and on our last night we were given another room. We got a 30% refund for the nights we had no air con. The screen casting worked well in our first room but didn't work in the new room we moved to and the engineer, while very polite, didn't understand the issue either. The bar, breakfasts and staff were very nice."

"Lovely, clean, and comfortable room. The bed and mattress were of excellent quality, and I had a very good night's sleep. We had dinner in the restaurant, which was fantastic. The portions were generous, and the food was of a very high standard. We stayed in the family room and, unfortunately, there was a noticeable iron burn mark in the middle of the carpet. Breakfast was cooked to order, with tea and coffee available on request. Overall, the breakfast was enjoyable. However, the sausages were...

"Hot water was scarce when we arrived and had a shower, but nice and hot in the morning. Rooms were clean, beds were comfy, extra blankets provided were very much welcome. Checkin was fabulous with extremely helpful and friendly staff. Breakfast was awesome. Highly recommend."
