"I chose this location because I had a tour departing from the port at 930A and my bus was arriving from Palermo at 845A. It was a quick 7 minute walk from the bus stop and I was able to drop my bags off and they handed me the keys. Once I came back, I was able to access my room. I was on the top floor and it was a clean room with a clean bathroom. I was able to use the washing machine as well. Doors were tricky to lock but they show you. "Byssus Suites are situated in the port area of Siracusa in a completely renovated building which offers style, luxury and comfort. Our suite was spacious, beautifully decorated and, along with a very comfortable bed, offered a private steam room which we loved. Breakfast was served in the building next door which is part of the hotel and also contains a fish shop and excellent restaurant. "Packed apartment for a family of 4 but it just fits with dining area, kitchen, bedroom, bathroom and balcony. Very nice big swimming pool and just cross the street to go to the beach and walk in 30 minutes to the Scala dei Turchei. If you have a 1st floor apartment on the 'backside' of the accomodation be aware of the street noise and that you have to climb stairs to get in your apartment."

The entrance had a betting shop on one side & a fried food stall on the other with groups of clientele lingering until late. "The bedside lamp was not working. There are no restaurants in the approximately and they only serve paninis. It has a beautiful view but it is quite the drive to get up there. The credit machine was not working so we had to pay cash. "
