This was my first, and definitely my last, time staying at a La Quinta. I booked this hotel because of its 3-star rating, expecting a decent experience, especially after having a great stay at a nearby 2.5-star hotel last year. Unfortunately, this stay was filled with issues.
The hotel is severely understaffed. No one came to clean our room or provide basic services you'd expect at even a budget hotel. The entire place feels old and poorly maintained, with popcorn ceilings, filthy carpets with visible stains. Our room also had a damp, musty smell, and we found a cockroach in the bathroom, which was the last straw.
The pool was unusable because it was occupied by baby ducks, which, while cute, made the area unsanitary. There was also no public restroom on the first floor, so if you needed to use the bathroom, you had to return to your room.
To make matters worse, our friends’ room had a leaking ceiling above the toilet, and toilet water was literally dripping on them while they used the bathroom. Completely unacceptable.
Even the small details reflected poor quality, like the shampoo and conditioner, which came in tiny bottles that barely lasted one use. There were no lockers or secure storage, and overall, the amenities were far below expectations.
I could go on, but the bottom line is, don’t stay here. Do yourself a favor and book the hotel next door, it’s worth it.
