"The rooms are meticulously clean and welcoming. Thoughtfully furnished with extra pillows, coffee maker, microwave, refrig - with extras like wall mounted shampoos, lotions, hairdryers, iron and board. Breakfast is extra ordinary. Staff is welcoming, friendly and accommodating. Grounds are well kept and Inn has a great location in a residential area (condos) near I 94 - but far enough away you do not hear the traffic. Near restaurants and gas. I feel safe as a single woman traveler and will continue to use whenever I need to be in Portage. Not much for kids to do - which makes for a quiet stay but tough on parents."

"Staff is amazing, always ready to help with any need. The breakfast has become an expected thing with Holiday Inn Express and the ladies taking care of it here did an incredible job considering the hotel was completley booked with a wedding, high school sports teams, racing teams competing at US 131 in Martin and the normal travellers they always take care of. Despite being right off 131, you don't hear traffic noise which is great too. Single complaint, while advertised as a "smoke free" facility, people sit and smoke on the bench right outside the front entrance. While unpleasant it won't stop us from staying here again."
