"The front desk said we could check in early, we arrived with children and a pet and then they told us the early check in couldn’t be honoured, fine. Came back at scheduled check in to find out our room still wasn’t ready. They gave us an “upgraded” room that has a smaller bed? It didn’t fit our needs at all but they said it was “clean now”. It wasn’t clean at all there were bugs in the bathroom. Happy to send the video I took. The bed in the bedroom was so uncomfortable I was up all night. The pool area smelled like cat spray and it needs a deep clean. The whole place is quite dingy. I was extremely disappointed. "

"The Arbutus inn was very nice. The staff was super friendly and even let us check in early and upgraded us to a better room on a higher level. The hotel is very conveniently located close to the downtown core and malls. The room was pleasantly renovated and very clean. There is free wifi and free on site parking, which is really nice as a lot of hotels don't have on site parking. We had a great stay at the Arbutus Inn. "
