"Very run down - reminded me of a nursing home in the hallways. Might be okay in the main building but avoid the garden tower completely. Bathroom shower floor was stained black with dirt. We wore shoes in the shower. Would never stay here again. Bus service was okay but often leaves early so just be aware and always be at stop at least 5 minutes early. "

"Perfect location for traditional touristy activities, staff are lovely and property is clean. Noticed lots of stores have closed down since we were there 2 years ago, also the streets are looking worse for wear - if you can look past that and appreciate where you are, nothing beats this hotel. "

"This was my first time in Hawaii and I stayed at HHV Waikiki Beach Resort. Check-in was smooth, our room was clean, and we had a great ocean view. Restaurant staff and housekeeping were excellent. Unfortunately, guest services and the front desk were the least helpful part of the stay. We weren’t informed about construction nearby, and there was constant drilling and hammering for several days. The lighting in the room was also very poor, and our floor’s ice machine was out of order. A friend had flowers delivered while we were out, but the hotel wouldn’t accept them because the delivery driver wouldn’t pay a $3 delivery fee. Considering the $55 nightly resort fee, it seems like that could have easily been charged to the room. The flowers never arrived and no one seemed concerned about resolving it. On our last day I dropped off stamped postcards at the front desk to be mailed. Later another employee told me they no longer accept mail there, and the postcards I had already given them were just sitting behind the desk. Overall, our stay was okay — 3/5 — but I wouldn’t stay here again. "

"The location of the hotel was great! Very convenient in terms of closeness to the beach and restaurants. The amenities are good! It’s nice that they give you chairs to take to the beach. We got an ocean front room and initially it was on the 9th floor and the street noise is very very loud. We asked to be moved to a higher floor and we were accommodated the next day to a room on a much higher floor. If you are staying here, try to be on the highest floor possible to avoid loud noise from the street, especially if travelling with little ones. Overall, our stay was great! Highly recommend this hotel! "
