"Nice hotel in a great location and very reasonably priced. We found the staff very helpful, and we would definitely return. Two points lead to a slightly lower rating - firstly, the only sideboard surface space in our room was slatted so anything small fell through it. You get used to it after a while but to us this was a silly and frustrating room interior design fault. Secondly, you have to rent bikes from the hotel per calendar day - if you want to hire bikes from 5pm one day until 5pm...

"Very small suite - typical for older European properties. No drawers, a few shelves. Hanging bar w/hangars vs a closet. 2 small, low chairs in sitting area - we're tall people. Does have a fridge. Bathroom extravagant in comparison w/ separate shower & soaking tub. Comfy bed & good breakfast. Nice view of canal. Sea bass was excellent."

"We stayed in a Deluxe Room the Mandarin Oriental Conservatorium for 5 nights, and we were disappointed. They put us on a floor that was undergoing renovations (our hallway was covered in painting tape and had unfinished light fixtures), and our room had non-functional ventilation and sparse seemingly unfinished decoration. "Booked this hotel as it looked really good online. Also have been looking for a hotel out of the city centre and close to the Vondel Park, for regular trips to Amsterdam.
Broke three ribs prior to travel and so was unable to travel as was finding it difficult to walk.
I realise a booked a non-refundable ticket, and requested a change of date. I thought that the hotel would have had a bit of sympathy for my situation. But no, they refused to move the date.
