1. OYO The Bentleys Hotel

Elswick

"Carl and Christine were so welcoming. The room was excellent and very clean and comfortable. BUT we ran out of toilet roll. There was fruit, cereal and toast for breakfast and tea or coffee ad lib. Parking in the grounds. We were only here for 1 night for University Open Day but I would definitely stay here again. Unpretentious and very good value. I have a hip problem and Carl let me sit in the lounge until my wife and son were ready."

"Let me,start by saying all the staff were absilutely brilliant and friendly. Hitel gowever seems to be in a state or ill repair. Paint falling off walls and ceilings. Curtainscthat didn't close fully. Heating was never on and very cold in am. Carpets filthy. Door to my room was in very bad state. Just think whoever owns this needs to get his finger out and invest in the property and staff. Not good."

"A comfortable stay in a clean, basic room. I was dropping my kid off at Durham, and needed an affordable, nearby place. This came up on an Expedia search. About 30min away from her college, and we took the opportunity to drive 5 min down to Horden Beach for a walk, which is lovely. We checked in at the bar, which was busy. They were not serving food, but encouraged us to get takeaway (there's a Chinese chippy next door) and provided us plates and cutlery. Their drinks are inexpensive. The...

"Extremely disappointing and distressing experience at Somerset Cottages, Sunderland. We booked and paid for accommodation but encountered numerous problems, including poor cleanliness, unfinished plaster and building residue, concerns about electrical socket fittings, and a shower that was unusable for approximately two days. We also had serious fire-safety concerns, including doors that did not close properly and an apparent lack of smoke detectors. We documented these issues with...

"About 6 students stay in the house. At 11.15pm on Wednesday 8th July I could not get to sleep because they were talking loudly and I told them to be quiet. they did. The same happened on Friday night at midnight I told them to be quiet, they did. Every B&B has milk sachets but not here. I was given a tin of milk but this was no good Dont come because of the noisy students. This house is situated in Ocean Road which is full of cafes/restaurants which are mostly Indian ones It is also near South...
