"Great spot for plane spotting aircraft at SAN. The rooftop guest area has a great view for pictures. Large rooms and ample beds make it excellent for large families."

"Stayed at two other California hostels in the past couple of years and this one was by far the best. Very private double bed, great bathroom facilities, and overall just a really great experience. My only complaint would be that the kitchen area is small. Hard for more than one person to move around in there."

"Stayed at this hotel last November and now. Nice hotel but it would be great if they could take wet towels and bring fresh towels each day without having to ask. Our shower did not have a door or curtain so water was almost all over the bathroom floor and we need to put our towels down."

"Great location and a charming boutique hotel. The room was clean, and the bed was very comfortable. I loved the thoughtful touch of having coffee and small snacks available on the floor, tucked away in a hidden wardrobe. There’s also more affordable public parking just two blocks away, which was very convenient. Overall, a pleasant and comfortable stay. One small suggestion: it would be nice to have a complimentary bottle of water available in the room without any extra charge."

"They had a succulent wall garden on the second floor and table and chairs. Coffee and tea readily available on this floor and 3rd floor. An historic building well maintained. Restaurant very nice. Had breakfast and supper. Delcious. Very clean."

"We got what we paid for-downtown Gaslamp. We were in walking distance to Petco Park, Little Italy, the waterfront and restaurants. Use the earplugs they provide. The staff was friendly and accommodating. ."

"pretty disappointed with this hotel. It is called a luxury hotel but doesn’t even have any snacks or water in fridges, i can hear others flushing the toilet or using water & it would make my water gets cold. I got the suite and i had a view of the dirty rooftop."

"Victor goes above and beyond with his wealth of knowledge of the surrounding areas. The folks at the desk were very helpful and patient answering any questions. Downside : we were going to eat at the restaurant but the bartender was preoccupied with his conversation with someone at the bar. Also , we stayed 7 days and only had housekeeping 2 days. Kind of lax for the $$$ you charge."

My family traveled to San Diego for the first time to attend our son's Marine graduation—one of the most important and memorable events of our lives. "Stayed here for 4 nights and unfortunately the experience was disappointing. I understand Moxy is meant to be more casual and compact, but the rooms felt old and not well maintained. The bed was uncomfortable, there was barely any closet or storage space, and no complimentary water in the room. Housekeeping only cleaned the room once during my entire stay, and I had to call and request it myself. Overall, the hotel feels overdue for updates and better service standards."
