"Extraordinary service and hospitality! Facilities, wine tasting lounge and drum show were unique and enjoyable. Plenty of space for all guests except during drumming show Sunday evenings - Our only frustration was the poor internet service - we had a bit of medical work to handle and could not connect to and maintain connection with internet in our rooms. Our onsen and room was fabulous. "

The traditional royokan rooms were an immersion in the traditional Japanese experience. However the absolute highlights were the authentic Japanese meals served by the most friendly and helpful staff. This stay could be the highlight of your trip."

"This was a unique experience. The 2 indoor and 1 outdoor onsen were very relaxing. The staff were extremely friendly, polite and helpful. The traditional Japanese food was beautifully presented and tasty. The standard of cleanliness was exceptional. About 25 minutes walk from Gora station if you are dragging heavy cases up the hill! Otherwise about 15 minutes. "

"The staff were exceptional! Professional and had paid attention to detail. Onsen was such an experience!! Very clean facilities, amenities were amazing, well kept hotel despite its history. Definitely avail for the free shuttle bus from Odawara station in Hakone to your hotel and back but make sure you do a reservation for this especially if you are traveling with luggage. Message Ryuguden hotel through Expedia for reservations. If you travel Light or miss the shuttle bus, there is local...

"The Suiun is beautiful and amazing! The staff are incredibly polite and accommodating. The property has a beautiful private and public onsen, with options for rooms that have their own onsen. The views of the surrounding mountains are gorgeous. The Japanese style breakfast they offer is impressive, varied, and filling. I will be staying here again in the future."

"チェックイン前にも関わらず、雨が強く、バスが止まったから辿り着けるかどうか確認のご連絡をわざわざくださり、一旦チェックインしてから外出して食事に行こうと予定していましたが、バスが止まるくらいひどいなら、食事を済ませてからにしようかなどと、予定が組みやすくなりました。従業員さんは親切丁寧で、私が予約人数を間違えたのですが、快く対応してくださり、チェックアウトが7時半〜ですが、雨でイベントに間に合わないかもしれないので、7時に出たいと申し出ましたが、快く対応してくださいました。お風呂は清掃が行き届いていて、アメニティも整っていて、とても快適でした。一人で大浴場に入っていたので、従業員さんが入って来られたのは一瞬びっくりしましたが、清掃が行き届いているのだなと安心しました。 "

"I booked 2 rooms—one for myself and one for my subordinate. During dinner, we were given a small table to share. I wanted to have some quiet time alone after work, so I moved to an empty table nearby. A Japanese waiter (wearing a vest) came over and spoke very rudely, insisting that I must sit with my subordinate just because we knew each other. He even asked me to carry all my food back. The restaurant had many empty tables, and it was not busy at all during 8pm to 930pm. I felt very embarrassed. I did nothing wrong but was treated badly. This is not how guests should be treated."
