"This hotel benefits from several things, none more important than their incredibly friendly and hospitable staff. They truly make you feel special throughout your stay and returning the beautiful property every day makes it feels as though you're coming home. The property grounds are beautiful and the restaurant patio is to die for. Not spending every single morning sipping coffee from that restaurant patio would be a mistake. "We absolutely loved out stay at Senda Monteverde. The grounds are gorgeous and have access to a beautiful hiking trail just out the back. They have a new pool and hot tubs that made our experience even more relaxing. Their restaurant is delicious. We ended up eating there for multiple meals and were happy with our choices every time. The staff were all extremely helpful and kind. They are very thoughtful and helped us with any bookings we needed. We needed a ride to the airport at 2am and...

"We loved Hotel Tropico! The individual cottages were cute and comfortable with amazing views. The on site restaurant was good and we were able to reserve breakfast, which was very convenient. Hotel Tropico is close to everything and all of the staff that we encountered were very friendly. I would recommend and would definitely stay again. "

"This is a cozy establishment with a lot of characters. My room is very clean and roomy. A beautiful and quiet flowered ground right at my doorstep provides relaxation (with a glass of wine) at the end of busy days. A very cute residential baby goat kept me company sometimes. The manager Miguel was so helpful. Thank you! Yes I recommend it. "

"Stunning views from restaurant and room across as far as lake Arenal. All the food offerings were fantastic from breakfast to evening meals using home grown and home made items. Regular supply of wildlife to keep you entertained. Only slight negative was a reasonably long walk up a steep hill to get to the nearest shops etc but that’s no fault of the hotel. Also be aware there is no A/C in the rooms if you are as lucky as we were with the weather."

"Here’s a sharper complaint: > This property is a family-run B&B, not a 4-star hotel. With only 6 rooms, the experience was far below what was advertised and what the Expedia/Google listings led us to expect. Our room had an extremely loud creaking floor, which made it feel cheap and poorly maintained. It may be acceptable for some travelers, but for the price, it was not worth it and definitely not the upscale stay we were looking for. "

"We did not partake in the breakfast offered for $10, chose to eat in the room and would have appreciated a toaster. Otherwise there was a kettle, coffee maker and microwave. Kitchen was very clean"

"This property was good for the price. It’s clean and comfortable. The property is dated but the owners really make this property a very nice stay. They are very accommodating and also helped with booking our tram reservation and provided recommendations for local eateries. We would stay again. Keep I mind if you have difficulty with stairs ask for the bottom floor rooms. Pura vida"
