Highly recommended location, I really enjoyed staying here at this family run B&B. Everyone there was very friendly and helpful, the breakfast was really nice, my room was great, very quiet and comfy. The gardens are lovely and there is a great little deck to watch the sunset. Although the place is down and unpaved road I was only in a tiny 2wd car and this (and everywhere else in the area) easily accessible, just take it very slow. Would definitely stay here again
Wonderful location in the middle of the rainforest. You can hear the high winds whipping above, but protected in the thick layers of the forest, just a small cool breeze standing on the balcony. Bed was very comfortable.
The staff speaks both English and Spanish. They were friendly and provided both traditional Costa Rican and American type breakfast options. Our room had a balcony with amazing views.
Friendly staff and clean room. The road approaching the hotel was in terrible condition. The parking lot was not paved, and difficult to drive on. The room had a few insects flying around.
Great location and hospitality!
We had the honeymoon suite. It’s private and overlooking the jungle. Cool evenings so come prepped. Leslie and the family served a hardy breakfast and helpful with planning our day.
I loved that the property is within walking distance of many nice restaurants.
The room was lovely, roomy and clean. The host was so personable and we enjoyed the breakfast. The setting was spectacular!! We had visiting monkeys, coatis and lots of birds. The location is close enough to walk to town. All the activities we did were within 15 to 20 minutes. We loved our stay!!!
This was our favorite place in Costa Rica. We actually decided to stay an extra night and upgrade to the Honeymoon suite. Both of the rooms were excellent money for the value, but I recommend the honeymoon suite if possible.
The owners were incredibly nice and helpful throughout the entire trip! The view is absolutely gorgeous and it’s just far enough out to enjoy nature.
We had an amazing time staying in the beautiful honeymoon suite. The entire side of the suite facing the forest is windows, including in the bathroom ! Probably the most scenic shower I’ve ever taken. A cooked homemade breakfasts is included every morning and you can pick between a Costa Rican or an American breakfast. The owners are very friendly and accommodating. I would definitely recommend staying here.
Wonderful experience in the cloud forest. We all felt like we were staying in a tree house, loved all te birds and animals we saw right on the property. Sebastiano, Leslie, and all the family could not have been nicer, helping to arrange tours and transportation, suggesting activities and restaurants. Shout out to Willy, our great driver who go us to Montverde over some pretty rough roads, and then down to Guanacaste. Definitely recommend

This is a fantastic find in Monteverde! It’s about 5 minutes (driving) from downtown, but a very short walk to several restaurants and a little store, just up the street.
The property itself is beautiful with trees and wildlife (birds, coatis, etc). We stayed in one of the “honeymoon suites”, which was set apart from the main building a little bit, and had a wonderful porch overlooking trees.
Leslie and his family were excellent hosts. Breakfast was delicious, and they were always available and knowledgeable to answer any questions we had.
We would highly recommend staying here.
We stayed three fantastic nights here in June. The bed was very comfortable, the room was spotless, and we had plenty of hot water in the shower. The owner was born and raised in Monteverde; he gave us great advice on where to hike and where to eat. His wife made us a delicious breakfast each day. Capuchin and howler monkeys visited the property each morning, as did countless birds; the motmot and bellbird were frequent visitors. The owner, a birder himself, called us over to his spotting scope one morning to get a close-up view of a toucan in the trees. We had a magical time here and highly recommend it!
Extremely disappointed with this property. Have been using Expedia for a long time and the first time i experienced a below par status hotel. Would not recommend this next step up from a hostel, and i had ugraded to the honeymoon suite when booking this property. First time ever I asked to see the room before payment was made at checkin. Several first for me on the Expedia booking site.
Our stay here was brief, but lovely. Leslie, the owner, was kind and helpful. His daughter even gifted us a bottle of wine when we arrived <3 We also had a beautiful view and saw some wildlife from our balcony.
Something I would love to see them implement, given their efforts in sustainability, would be the Acopian BirdSaver curtains. There is such a diversity of birds there, but since the windows are so clean and clear, birds collide with the window and can concuss themselves. We saw a motmot collide with one of the windows. I hope it was fine afterwards.
Our family of four with two teenagers stayed here in June using two rooms. The accommodation is simple but clean and cozy. The balcony was refreshing and we enjoyed the rain and birds. The shower was hot and the food excellent. At the recommendation of the owner, Lesli, we visited Curi-Cancha reserve and saw monkeys, coati and other animals. It was beautiful. We also drove to Selvatura for zip lining and hanging bridges. The roads are difficult but we managed in our rented Geely 2X small SUV. We ate one night within walking distance and drive into Santa Elena (5mins) the other nights eating at Taco Taco and Bon Apetite, both great. Lesli and wife were very hospitable and we enjoyed our stay. Lesli even set up a telescope to give us views of Howler monkeys in the trees. All very memorable.
We were over charged for our room, when I contacted Hotels.com they put me on hold and said no one at the property spoke English, when we checked in the lady spoke English? The room was very small, bed was uncomfortable, the walls were paper thin. The room was located over the front office/kitchen area and had loud noises coming from it all night. We were woken by loud talking by the owners. Breakfast was ok nothing special. I definitely wouldn’t recommend this place.
I can't say enough about my incredible experience in the capable hands of Leslie (the owner) at his beautiful B&B tucked right into the rainforest. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the main feature for me being the large windows.
You really do feel like you're right inside the jungle. You will see a lot of nature just from your balcony. During my time there I saw coatimundis, agoutis, capuchin monkeys, toucans, and motmots. The sounds at night are incredible. Leslie has his own nature scope at the property and was always happy to give guests a closer look.
Leslie's wife prepared a wonderful breakfast every morning. You have two options: 1) gallo pinto - the local specialty of eggs, rice & beans, and fried plantain, or 2) eggs and pancakes. Both meals come with fresh fruit, orange juice, and coffee. Gallo pinto was excellent fuel for the hiking days.
You will likely want to be making many excursions to the parks and coffee farms, as I did. Don’t stress about planning this stuff in advance. I simply told Leslie what I was interested in, and he would hop on the phone and book a spot and transportation. You will literally have no worries about your time in Monteverde staying here.
The owner and his family were extremely friendly, and that really made the experience staying here as a solo traveler. My first evening, they were celebrating a family event outside and his son offered me a beer. I felt very welcome. Do yourself a favor and stay here!
We were late arriving in Monteverde from La Fortuna due to the windy roads. I didn't notice until that evening that check-in closed at 9 pm. I called the number listed on our confirmation at 8:50 pm to let them know we would be a little late. We were in Santa Elena at the time I called. I called several times, and it rang about 4 times and then hung up. I never got thru to them. I expected the check-in people to answer the phone up until 9 pm.
We drove as fast as we could to the B&B, but it was dark and locked when we arrived. The B&B wasn't straightforward to find and we had a few wrong turns before we went down the correct lane. Signage at the main road was minimal.
Because we couldn't get thru to them, we had to find and pay for an alternate hotel to spend the night. It wasn't easy to find another hotel in the late evening.
I would not recommend this lodging to any others who may be arriving late.
Amazing experience, and right in nature! This family run business sure made our trip better. Great recommendations, breakfast and even kept finding wildlife to show us. More than we saw in the cloud forest! We will definitely return one day!
The room we stayed in had very large picture windows facing the forest and the king size bed was very comfortable. The host was most accommodating, pointing out wildlife around the property, assisting us in making tour reservations and recommending local restaurants. Only complaint was the shower had warm water, but the water pressure was very low making it a little difficult to comfortably shower.
