"Itโ€™s hard to know what to expect when youโ€™ve never been to the town before. This is a great place for location. I wanted to check in quick and stretch my legs walking along the ocean. That happened. A few unhomed folks along the way. If you want valet, help with your bags, friendly but not BFF staff. Reliable everything this is your spot. There was a big conference happening while I was there and I didnโ€™t feel any impact. All conference goers seemed happy and healthy. If you want unique, cozy, work a little harder to prove your travel chops, look at other options."

"This is my go to spot when staying in Monterey. Good price. Although, be aware that there is a bit of traffic noise, occasionally planes & thin walls in the room. But location is convenient, in the middle of everything which makes it nice to get to pg, marina, seaside, etcโ€ฆ My only complaint was my rooms showerhead the pressure was weak and barely any water would come out. But other than that Iโ€™ve never had an issue staying at el castell. Would recommend to others looking for a nice convenient affordable option. :)"
