Hotel was right next to the Lausanne train station. The rooms are clean and the staff was very helpful at check-in. They even gave us complimentary transport tickets (for tourists) that also got us discounts at museums.

Friendly staff
Excellent and super-friendly staff. But be careful if you take this hotel because of the gym and SPA, since you will use the public gym next to the hotel with strange rules, like no gym-tops allowed, and also the sauna was not working on Sunday :(

Hotel Continental was highly convenient for the railway station as we were arriving there quite late on the night of our stay and leaving promptly in the morning by a fairly early train. By the standards of accommodation within close vicinity of a railway station this hotel is well situated. The area is safe, clean and in no way seedy. My daughter and I had stayed at Hotel Continental a week prior to our last stay. I would say that unfortunately I am not able to give as good a review for the second stay. It seemed that the first room had been updated more recently. On our second stay there were some stains on the carpet and the room was smaller and generally shabbier. The worst feature was the lavatory. When flushed water shot up and splashed over the seat. Unhygienic. After my first visit I gave a generally very good review apart from mentioning that only one pillow was provided for each bed. This is minimal, surely an extra couple of pillows could be in reserve in the wardrobe, ready to use, in clean pillowcases, should they be required. As it was I asked about the bedding on arrival and was handed an extra pillow, hastily accessed from near the reception desk, which I was to carry upstairs with my luggage.

Great location for getting around.
The reception staff are excellent and the location outside the station couldn’t be better. It’s also much quieter than most hotels in such a central location. The room is pretty basic but clean and comfortable.

Great service
The hotel is well located, across the road from the Lausanne station. Check in was excellent - staff were really friendly and explained the local area. The free travel pass provided by the city is great.

Excellent location for an early morning train departure and a pleasant area for proximity to a railway station. We enjoyed a good breakfast with plenty of choice of food, greeted by a smiling member of staff . Our only criticism would be that each bed had just one, very soft and slim pillow and although we requested extras from a polite and well meaning concierge, we were unable to obtain second ones. Apart from this, overall, our stay was good.

Very great hotel in front of central train station of Lausanne. You have access to the metro and buses with the city pass they offer once you stay a night minimum over there. Staff is friendly and helpful, would recommend.

Very good hotel, slightly noisy location
Very friendly welcome, hotel lovely and clean. A slight negative was the noise outside, not the hotels fault but did detract a little!

Staff couldn't have been nicer and more helpful. No AC, which is OK, but very loud area (front and back) so windows open led to poor sleep. Strongly dislike the common practice of "duvet only": you have to choose between broiling in hot weather or no covering. How about a sheet? No extra pillow, even on request. Not the most charming immediate area, but fine, and right next to transport station. Stay includes free use of trains/subways-- use them! Lovely old center, lovely lakeside, nice vineyard walks a free ride away. Luggage drop-off challenging, but not if you don't mind semi-legally dumping your car in front for a few minutes.

Over all satisfied and we will be back
Over all we enjoyes staying at this hotel. The staff is very friendly and tries to help and give the best service. Location is excellent. The condition of the room is not the best. We needed help in order to operate the safe since some of its buttons are not responding. One of the two elevators did not work well all the time. Breakfast is good. Staff is one of the best!!

Great reception
We had a great stay! The property is right next to train station and metro line which was a real bonus! I want to especially mention the receptionist who greeted us named Monon. She was absolutely wonderful in helping us navigate the city! Could not have been sweeter 👏

Great location next to the train station and the Avis dealer. Nice sized room with a good shower with a full door. The best thing about it is that it's at the same elevation as the train station. Most of the other hotels require some significant climbing or a taxi.

This hotel is lovely. This was my third stay. My room overlooked the station so a little noisy but i could also see the mountains and lake in the distance. Everything you need is in the room, kettle, safe, and a lovely rain shower. Very convenient as it's literally across the road from the station with buses and taxis outside. Great staff who are very pleasant and helpful.

Perfect location when travelling by train. Staff very welcoming and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. Room facilities, e.g. air conditioning, electrical goods etc. very dated with some health and safety issues. Loose switches, old equipment and no USB ports, not good enough for today’s technical needs

The hotel location is superb, just opposite the train station. There are restaurants within short walking distance. The Lausanne city center and shopping district are 10 minutes walk away. Our room faced away from the railway station and the main road, so it was quiet. The hotel was quite clean. There was no air-conditioning. A portable fan was provided. Hence the room was quite stuffy. Wifi was good. The hotel staff were friendly. Overall, the experience was good.

The best thing about this property is location. It's right across from the train station and 50m from the Metro. Manon at the front desk is a GEM! She was so friendly and helpful, I had everything I needed by the time I finished check-in. The bed was the worst part. Mattress was horrible and the two twins split apart all night--not like an actual queen mattress. The pillows had almost no stuffing. Asked for two extras and together, they still didn't equal one pillow. Room was very, very clean. Pizza shop next door makes the best crust on a pizza I've ever eaten, including in Italy!

Good hotel, in good location and right next to the train station. Only thing is when I entered the room, it smelled bad, so I had to ventilate it and opened the window for awhile. Otherwise, I had no issues and the room was good and well maintained. I would recommend this hotel to other visitors
