"The hotel was well maintained and clean. The food was good. They had a great little coffee bar where the lattes were excellent. The hotel grounds were attractive. The staff was friendly and helpful. Each seemed to be willing to help with learning Spanish.
Our stay overlapped the fallout from El Mencho’s attempted capture and death. While the city burned, the staff still put on brave faces and cared for guests as though nothing was going on. Many could not go home that night. Most worked long...
