Immediately upon arriving on Sunday we encounter issues with our room. It was not clean, counter was dirty, sliding door didn't have a handle to open it, our room was given to me under someone else's name, my name was under another room, our ac was not cooling down, our shower was not working properly, the pool had broken tile and my husband cut his toe, when he told the lifeguard he just gave him a band-aid, our backs hurt because our mattress was bowed. When asked if they had any channels in English the answer was you should’ve paid to stay at Secrets Resorts, they have English there. We kept calling the front desk for all this issues. On Thursday we were told we had to talk to Concierge, this is 5 days after we had arrived. Concierge exchanged the mattress, offered VIP lounge (not worth our hassle) gave us 4 chocolate covered strawberries and room service but when we called for room service, they told us we had to go to the front desk to pick it up. Since day 1 we wanted to be moved to another room but because I booked through Expedia, I had to request it through them. I also reached Expedia, they told me the hotel had offered me a Junior suite and when I tried to explained to them the situation about the mix up on the names Expedia wouldn't listen refused to helped me believing the hotel and even though we paid for insurance for our reservation, they said we have to take it up with our insurance and call them directly.
