"The hotel is very well maintained, and staff were excellent. The breakfast was disappointing, as the only fruit available was an indifferent fruit salad. No prunes, grapefruit, peaches fresh strawberries etc. The only hotel I have stayed in where the cold buffet lacked fruit. The toaster (as is usual) either under toasts or almost burns the toast"

"Our room was excellent very quiet with lovely comfortable bed, nice bed linen, towels and plenty of tea&coffee etc. Breakfast was delicious. We ate evening meals at the hotel which were homemade and great quality and reasonable price. New owners have taken over hotel just over 2 mths ago and we found them to be very friendly, welcoming and hard working. "Top quality hotel in a brilliant location, absolutely loved it here. We didn’t find a better bar to have a drink in or a better restaurant to eat in, all perfect… with a wonderful view over the lake too! The leisure facilities really helped too, the pool was a proper pool you could actually swim in! My only (very slight) observation might be that it did look a bit tired in places, with a bit of paint peeling off here and there."

"This is a lovely property conveniently located on a hill overlooking Keswick and near the many attractions in and around Keswick. Our room was substantial with a comfortable bed and sitting area.
