Hotel Rooms with Balcony in Koh Lipe

"I was actually surprised how just great this place was - exceeded my expectations. The rear of the property feels a bit “big-hotel-y”, with “ large two storey blocks of rooms built around pools. Which may suit some, but is not my thing personally. But luckily the front half, including where the Villa Suites I stayed in are located, is much nicer - open & spacious, low-rise, beautiful tropical gardens. The staff are terrific - better than even the typically high standard in Thailand. Pattaya Beach here, and to the west, is lovely. It goes downhill as you go east from here. The only constructive criticisms I can make are: The hotel wastes / really should make better use of its beachfront. It’s covered in tables - that no one uses during the day - rather than sun beds and similar. Put sunbeds on the beach during the day, swap for tables in the evening, and it would be so much better. Food & drink prices are pretty outrageous unfortunately, even by the standards of higher end places on Lipe. This does leave a bit of a sour taste. More lights in the bathroom, particularly around the mirror, would be appreciated (the simple fact I’m listing this shows how little there is to criticise, though!)."

"We loved our stay at the Idyllic and would highly recommend it. Excellent breakfast, lovely room and great views from the beachside pool and the beach itself. However, the absolute highlight was dinner on the beach at night in the hotel's restaurant...beautiful ambiance and some of the best food we have had in Thailand!"

"We stayed for 11 nights. We had a delux garden room. The room was basic but clean and tidy. Air conditioning and WiFi worked great. The view from the room of the sunset was amazing. The hotel breakfast was great with a large choice for everyone. The view from the breakfast area is exceptional. The beach is beautiful white sand a clear waters. The pick up from the ferry and shuttle to walking street worked really well. Value for money it was a great hotel in a stunning location we will definitely return. "

"Cabins were clean and tidy on arrival, the staff were also super helpful, probably the best service we received in Thailand. The cafe on the beachfront was really nice, proper tasty food and drinks. Great location, 5 minute walk to Walking street and right on the beach. When we booked this initially our thought was ‘how bad can it be without AC’ for a few nights. For us, it was a bit unbearable, really struggled to sleep while we were here, I can’t hold that against Castaways as we knew before we booked but it’s something you need to consider. On the final day there was a whole bunch of ants that had invaded toilet and I woke up covered in bites that weren’t from mosquitos, not sure what they were but wasn’t very nice. After noticing the bites we took the bed covers up to check for bed bugs and it was kinda gross, not sure how often they change the mattress topper sheet underneath. "

"We were disappointed from the hotel because we would have expected a little higher standard for the price we paid. The hotel has a beautiful location directly at the beach, with a dive school and Italian restaurant as part of it. We booked the Family Bungalow, which was spacious but very basic. Very loud at night as the wooden wall are so thin you can hear everything outside - late nights from the neighbors and a restaurant directly next door from another hotel. Make sure you bring good ear buds and mosquito spray. The toilet did not have a flush and we had to manually flush it with a bucket of water and it was stinking. The room was also very dark with no air con but only two fans. We tried to contact the owners beforehand to book a dive but never got a response either. Overall wouldn’t stay again. "
