Spa was wonderful. Got a shiatsu massage afterward dinner in our traditional Japanese room with tatami mats, futon, resting area, view of bamboo forest and private onsen. It was magical!

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
Room was very clean and staff was extremely friendly
I absolutely loved the traditional Japanese room with the private outdoor bath. While it can only fit one person it’s so relaxing to be out there amongst the bamboo hillside.
The hotel staff here really go above and beyond helping you with baggage, shuttle to the train station, explaining, and giving restaurant recommendations.
The dinner unfortunately was full as I booked somewhat last minute. Some of the town restaurants closed up a little early on Saturday but the recommended izakaya was terrific.
I didn’t need most of the amenities but everything was provided including some tea, coffee, and a kettle that I wanted first thing in the morning.
Just wish I stayed longer to experience more of the town and the onsens.
Overall, the property was clean and well maintained, though the hallways felt a bit dated. The stay itself was comfortable, but communication could have been improved. I had clearly requested a half board plan with both dinner and breakfast, but only dinner was booked. While they did confirm dinner in their message, I wish the breakfast portion had been addressed more clearly to avoid any confusion. It may have been a language barrier, but better clarification would have helped.

Room and staff were great. Room was fairly expensive compared to others. Would recommend going to a Michelin star restaurant over the dinner you can get with board.
Room was nice and clean. Staff was very polite and fast. The onsen was great and the half board was fantastic. The place is up a hill and i didnt check about shuttles so had to walk it up with the bags and it was rough.
It is overall a good stay. Just that for a premium price of 600 USD for 2 nights (breakfast included) for a single person, this place fall slighly below expectation, partly due to lack of shower in room, the fume from burning of incense, lack of facilities such as coin washing machine, in-house cafe, coin washing machine, need to surrender room key to front counter when going out and relatively lesser choice of 2 public baths.
Food was excellent, staff was attentive and helpful, the futon bed was comfy, maples view near breakfast area is great.
This hot spring area in Kobe was a relaxing stop during our longer trip. Its healing waters were wonderful for both our body and soul. If you’re ever nearby, I highly recommend visiting the hotel / area — the air and the water are beautiful. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and the private onsen inside the room was spotless and lovely. The meals were traditional Japanese cuisine and very tasty. When choosing a room, definitely include the meal option — the dinner was especially excellent.
Beautiful room and the onsen are nice. The meals were an absolute highlight of the trip and all were delicious and full of variety. Spent a lot of time in the library/lounge and was grateful for that space. A beautiful place to rest and recharge.
A well refined boutique Ryokan! We had the breakfast and dinner inclusion, and must say this was the highlight of our trip. Right in town, but away from the bustle. Showa period interiors felt as if we were taken back in time. Do not forget to sit in the library, was taken aback by the start of the Autumn leaves falling. Will be back again!
The guest service at Negiya Ryofukaku was amazing. They pay attention to detail, are friendly, attentive and genuinely interested in each and every Guest. They offer a personal shuttle to the Bus stop or the immediate local arima area. They assisted us with dining reservations for our first night. The dinner and two breakfasts were delicious. We would love to visit again.
This was my first time in Arima and also my first time staying in a traditional Japanese-style room at a ryokan. I had stayed at a different ryokan the night before in a Western-style room, so this stay was a completely new experience. The staff and service were wonderful, and the location of the ryokan was very scenic. I had not included dinner in my booking, but I wish I had. I did rent the private onsen for 45 minutes and was able to enjoy the relaxing effects of Arima’s famous gold and silver waters. The tatami-style room was charming and comfortable, and I would love to return in the future and bring friends with me. Breakfast the next morning, with everyone wearing yukatas, made the experience even more memorable.
Hotel is lovely, room is fab traditional space. Onsen facilities are beautiful
Staff and service was excellent
Food is VERY authentic japanese - be aware of that if you're more used to Western Japanese foods
