"Glad we stayed at Royal Sonesta for a week. My family had a great time. The swimming pool and Jacuzzi were clean and we spent a lot of time in water. The kalpaki beach access is a great convenience. The food at kukui restaurant was great. The staff were very helpful and the concierge helped me plan out my week to my requirements. "Beautiful resort. Great buffet breakfast. The basic room, for $1,000 a night (including taxes and resort fees) was really a basic room, and not worth the money. It was nice it had two sinks, but had wear on the room. Very nice, helpful staff everywhere. We did valet parking for $40 a day. It was nice. Our room did not have a beach view, I don't know how much more that would have cost?"

"Front desk staff was rude at check in, we were given the wrong room, the property is so old the air conditioners and front door were completely rusted out, and the cottage rooms are right next to a huge public park right out the windows and front door. "

"We had been at 2 different VRBOs for the week prior to this. We prefer the privacy and uniqueness of those experiences to that of a big resort where we felt like more of a number in a concrete jungle. And the price/value was so much better with the VRBO route. An example was the $40 per night money grab for parking. "

Fantastic location for all you’d want to do in Kauai, but you could also stay and never need to leave the property. "Room was immaculate and exactly what was advertised. Property is incredible in every way. We already put money down for our next stay. Resort isn’t cheap but has everything you could want available. It’s a very very steep path to the nearby beach, but it’s well worth it."

"Beautiful view, very quiet. Felt like only ones there. Rooms are a bit small but sufficient. Note we booked here as they had a restaurant but when we checked in we were notified it was closed for renovations and has been a long time. Very disappointed it was not noted on their website. "
