Great Hotel in a fantastic location. All the staff were very friendly and helpfull. We were alteady in the best room for our family so didnt need an upgrade, there was also a big bottle of red wine in our room as we are VIP members. Would highly recommend this hotel for thr location and the friendliness of the staff. Breakfast was very good, so many choices.

Great location and helpful front desk, however we had problems with our room. We were placed in the basement unit, it felt like we were basically sleeping outside because we could hear everything from the street and restaurant around us, we were there for 4 nights and we slept for maybe 2-3 hrs each night because of how noisy it was. They were also doing construction work across from the hotel so that also contributed to the loud factor. The kitchen was also filled with ants and the staff said they can’t do anything about it as it is a very old building so that was disgusting. Cleaning service was also not done well, they’d only come change the towels and do the bed, didn’t get garbage bags or clean anything else. Also found it odd that the bathroom didn’t have toiletries just hand soup. Overall, if you’re able to switch rooms and not stay in the basement, please do that otherwise you won’t be getting any sleep.

Location is near the Mosques - Agia Sophia, Blue Mosque, and aqueducts. The street is lined with restaurants and carpet shops. The tram depot is near the mosques. You can take the tram to get anywhere in the city including the ferries to the "Asian" side of the Bosphorous. The staff is attentive and helpful. The cost is minimal compared to American Chain Hotels in the area.

Super Nice Stay
We loved this hotel. Our room was really nice. The building is old but our room was large, clean and comfortable. The location couldn’t have been better in an area with lots of restaurants and shops. It is close walking distance to the tourist sites. We would definitely stay there again.

The hotel is located in a central party of the city. Everything is in walking distance and easy to get to. Lots of dining and shopping places around. The hotel shows its age. The best part of the hotel is the wonderful staff. They had a solution for any challenge.

The hotel is in the tourist attraction areas, many within walking distance. The property is a bit old and sounds can be heard when people open/close doors, drop things on the floor and walk up stairs.

The hotel is located in a very nice historical building and heart of old town, the bathroom is not very modern, but this did not bother us, location is ideed excellent, we really enjoyed our stay, the roof terrace is simply gorgeous, breakfast there with the great view was very nice

We loved this stay! The room was perfect and clean and just as described. they provided water, tea and coffee for us also which was nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great. The hotel is in a great location. I’d highly recommend staying here and will gladly come back the next time I’m in Istanbul!

If you want to experience the authentic culture of the old town, stay at the Sari Konak. The staff were fantastic and so accommodating. They helped us get our lost luggage back and upgraded our room free of charge. John and Mustafa are so knowledgeable about the locality too. The breakfast is so fresh and tasty, with such variety. Forget the chain hotels stay at the Sari Konak.

Wonderful stay - just as video showed
We enjoyed a wonderful stay at the Hotel Sari Konak. The hotel is a short walk from all sorts of restaurants, market shops, the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. Little further on are the Topkapi Palace and Basilica Cistern. Everyone mentions how convenient it is to be so centrally located in Sultanahmet, and we agree. We were there for a weekend that brought even more people to Istanbul because of a holiday, and we chose to pass up on the long lines for the mosques that form during the day, opting to see those sites later in the evening since they were so close to the hotel. We also took advantage of the public transportation that was also close to the hotel. Each time you leave, you give your key to the gentleman at the front desk. This gives you a wonderful opportunity to touch base with whomever is there as you return, commenting on your day, your walks, and ask any questions. Our room was a standard double room, which was a good size, with comfortable bed and nice shower/bathroom. There is a small refrigerator in the room and tea/coffee kettle service. Our room was on the third floor, next to the elevator and just down the short walk to take the steps to the rooftop. Even though the hotel was full the days we were there, we never heard anyone in the hallways or heard the elevator running. Wi-Fi service was excellent. The rooftop was a very beautiful and special place to enjoy throughout the day. We went up each morning for the delightful breakfast with excellent service.

The staff were really attentive and made sure we were always safe. They gave us lots of advice with regards to excursions and how best to book. Also one day we needed medication and they assisted us with a map to the local pharmacy. They also explained which SIM card to use and how to withdraw cash to get the least transfer fee. The room was small and there was not full length mirror for outfit checks but otherwise we would recommend this hotel. Breakfast was nice and had a good spread. The terrace is lovely at any time of the day but especially at night.

The staff were very helpful. They helped us locate various areas of interest and most important provided taxi service at lesser price. If you want to be near the main attractions of the area at a walking distance then this is the place to be. Now for what is not good (for some). The property states the existence of an elevator. There is one on one side of the hotel after you go 8 steps up (with luggage). This side of the hotel are for the single rooms so, if that is what you want, then you are OK. However, if you ask for a suite for more than 4 people then you will be on the other side of the hotel where there is no elevator. Room 502 is only 2 steps up on the first floor. Room 503 is on the second floor and room 504 is on the third or top floor. To get to the upper floors you have to go up a spiral stairs (not good with luggage). I had to do it with 8 pcs. of luggage and it was not fun (but I lost some weight). Also, at the time of our trip, the outdoor area for breakfast on the ground level was under renovation so we had breakfast on the roof terrace which was pleasant (we accessed it by going downstairs to the other side of the building then up by elevator). Free breakfast is good but, the same, and after 4 days we had breakfast at a restaurant on the fifth day. The area can be congested and many taxi and bus drivers may/will drop you far from the hotel if there is traffic on your way back from an excursion or a simple trip during traffic time (that happened to us).

This hotel is in a great location but is in terrible condition (see exposed electrical and mold pictures) and has some of the worst customer service. It’s also worth noting that the cancellation policy on Hotels.com is inaccurate, they don’t offer transportation services (taxi for a fee), and the breakfast food seems to be recycled and not hygienic.

It was very nice. Location is perfect, staff is very helpful. They kept our bags in a locker although we sent them from another place until we come back

Great value, great location
This hotel is perfectly located, just a 5 minute walk from the Blue Mosque. Despite its location, we slept perfectly every night and there was very little noise. The hotel staff are friendly and speak great English, so communication was smooth and efficient. The hotel breakfast is good, though my only suggested addition would be to add some cold meats to the selection! The Tahini paste is delicious. Our room was quite small, but for £75 per night, I don't think anyone could have any complaints! The room comes equipped with a comfy bed, a safe, a TV and a balcony. The bathroom is a decent size and there were zero issues with the shower/hot water. Overall, we were very pleased with our stay and thought we got great value for money. We would certainly stay again!
