"We loved our stay at the Majestic Colonial All inclusive Resort. We stayed for one week in a garden facing Club room on the second floor. We had a beautiful view of the gardens, beach and sunsets from our balcony. The Club rooms are a bit more costly but worth it for us. We had a butler, his name was Anderson. He made sure we were enjoying our time and helped with any questions. The room and all the resort was well maintained. All the staff we interacted with were so nice and always ready to help when we asked. The Club rooms include a few perks, one is a snack bar in the club office area. It offers all sorts of yummy foods and is very well maintained from morning to evening by the staff. The beach area was also well maintained. We used the Club pools most of the time. They are narrow and long, with a wet bar at one end. They had lots of lounges and canopied cabanas to use. All the pools were a comfortable temp. The property has several restaurants to choose from. Two of them require reservations for dinner. Just so it is clear, All inclusive means the food is included, along with the drinks. That said, when you go to the restaurant you can order what you want from the menu. I usually ordered two appetizers and entrees because I wanted to try some different foods while I was there. We tipped the wait staff a dollar or two for meal service. There is a less expensive gift shop off the property. It is a 5-10 min free shuttle ride from the resort."

"My wife and I (early 40s) took a 3-night trip to the Dominican Republic—our first time in the DR and our first all-inclusive. Transportation was booked through Viator and was mixed. We prepaid for round-trip service, but upon arrival told we owed an additional $60 because Viator “doesn’t charge enough” for the distance. With no real options, we paid by credit card (including a 10% fee) so we’d have documentation if needed. That administrative hassle was the main downside. The drivers themselves were excellent, professional, and made us feel safe. The ride was about 45 minutes from the airport and roughly an hour on the return. The staff throughout the resort were fantastic—friendly, accommodating, and helpful. We followed standard tipping guidance: $1 per drink, $7 for the bellhop and room tour, $3 for the minibar, and $5 for housekeeping. Food was generally good but not outstanding. Nothing impressed us greatly, but nothing was bad either. My wife is gluten-free; while options were somewhat limited, she never went hungry and absolutely loved Agave. The beach was beautiful, though I got bitten badly after a short walk—my fault for skipping bug spray. Drinks were excellent; despite having 10+ daily, I never felt drunk. Coco Loco was my favorite. We felt safe. The room safe worked well, and the resort felt secluded. Our garden-view room had vaulted ceilings and was comfortable, though slightly musty at first and the pillows weren’t great—later learned there’s a pillow menu"
