"Staff don’t speak English bathroom only on the first floor we were staying at the 4th and no dinner and no breakfast available. Good for a step only one night before Kyoto. "

"My favorite hotel from my trip with a great breakfast to go with! Amazing room with a nice walkable area outside and very close to the train station. Would stay again! "

"The room was not what I expected from this chain of hotels. The room was larger than expected. Fortunately I had the non-smoking floor. I had another room room on the smoking floor and it was a pretty strong odor. Just be careful of what you're booking when making your reservations. It was also within walking distance from many restaurants and provided ample parking."

"Really nice area, 20 minute walk to the train station. There’s also a Gigo nearby if you wanna play games or crane machine. I would stay here again :)"

"Located conveniently to the Gion district of Kyoto, a relatively short walk to Kiyomizu-dera, and also Pontocho and the modern heart of Kyoto. Big, comfortable beds, and modern meets old world style. In-site onsen and bar, what more could you want?"
"The location is near to various train lines to get to different places, food places and shopping. Walking around from here is also easy, the river is nearby and across from it is already the Gion area.
My bedspace was very comfortable and clean. I slept well during my stay. There is a shelf above the bed where I could put things. Power outlets - there is one by the bed and one by the shelf. The bedspace area also has a full length mirror. With the remote provided, it was easy to change the bed from a sofa/upright position to a flatbed position - like a business class seat on a plane. There is also storage space beneath the bed but my 28” suitcase couldn’t fit in. I could, however, still place my suitcase flat beneath the bed on the floor when the bed is flat and when the bed is in the sofa/upright position, I had my suitcase upright in the standing position in the cube. For privacy, there is a roller blind you can pull down whilst sleeping or changing.
Amenities can be picked up at the check-in/lounge area and these are free. There is a fee for pajamas and if you request for cleaning of your bedspace.
Showers and toilets were clean but dependent on other users. There is shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, handwash, tissue paper, hairdryers.
Lounge area and open kitchen were great. There is a coffee machine, choice of teas, microwave, toaster, stove, water dispenser, utensils, pots, pans, crockery, cutlery, fridge, rice pot, etc. and a happy hour every evening.

"Our second stay at the Celestine and was just as amazing as our first stay in 2023. They staff was amazing in setting up dining reservations in some of our favorite spots in Kyoto. The breakfast team deserves a raise for all the hard work they put into an awesome, and tranquil dining experience. The onsite spa is the perfect way to rest and relax after walking through multiple cities or towns. They truly understand their guests and what it takes for them to have a magical and tranquil experience."
