"I overall had a good experience at WPU HOTEL HAKONE. The staff were kind and helpful. Breakfast was included which was nice. The breakfast itself was a buffet style where you had to book a time slot. This wasn't too bad and if you needed to change the time between days, they would try to acommodate it. My only complaint is that for a modern stay, they should have more amenities such as a hair tools. I purposely did a short weekend trip and thought they would provide hair tools since there was also an onsen but they only had hair dryers. Unfortunately the one I got worked but the handle was broken. Small things but they should have a few irons at reception for guests to borrow. Otherwise, great stay."

"Very clean and room was nice, large, and comfy. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was great - mix of different things every day for dinner, filling and good. Location is a bit tricky because it is just above a very steep hill - can just call a taxi at Gora (3 min ride and very cheap)"

"Room was amazing. The old architecture with modern amenities was great. The onsen was beautiful. The hotel itself and the area around the hotel, including the gardens were stunning and fun to explore. A perfect oasis, I wish we could have stayed longer. Some lovely shops and restaurants within walking distance. The free shuttle up the hill to the train station was appreciated, although the walk down to the hotel is worth doing. Stop at Naraya cafe as well!"
