"The property was very central to everything. The courtyard in the front with the Famous Panda wall Artwork was fabulous to enjoy breakfast or drinks. The ocean view from the patio was beautiful, if your room faced the front this was your view. We had the room in the back with a larger sitting area on the first floor. Quieter on the back side. There was complimentary coffee and water 24hrs a day. We would definitely return and stay at Pousada Alfama again. "

"The facility is spotless. The service is impeccable. The staff is always ready to help. I cannot say enough about this hotel and it's staff. It is one of the best hotel visits I've had in my life. When a tour was canceled on us due to a flat tire, the front desk staff arranged a wonderful alternative that resulted in a vist to a vinyard operated on a natural basis, and the wine was wonderful. "Authentic and unique. Stunning former single family home now houses 3 rooms for visitors, as well as incredible Turkish restaurant. After staying in a number of larger hotels, we were happy to have had this neighborhood experience. A few things to note - if you arrive on a Tuesday or Saturday, outside and all around the building is a huge flea market, which we also enjoyed, but you will not be able to be dropped off at the door. Also, there is no elevator, guest rooms are on 2nd floor."

"This hotel is in a great location. It's close (can walk) to most major sites and public transportation is nearby. The best thing about this hotel is the wonderful staff who were very helpful throughout our stay. Some people mentioned that the square in front of the hotel had a lot of foreign people sitting there and that made them afraid. That's true but my husband and myself never felt afraid - we were never bothered/harrassed. "

"From the time we arrived at the Hotel until we walked out the door everyone was amazing. From the front office helping with restaurants, tours, all the way to a birthday cake delivered to the room. The restaurant was unbelievable as well the service in the Breakfast was fantastic and so pleasing and pleasant every person in this establishment went out of their way to make sure you had wonderful experience. Rating 10 out 10. "
