"It’s about the view and location with this one. Sitting on the patio overlooking the water was definite highlight. This hotel is quite dated as others have said, and in many cases is quite rundown. Our room had a musty smell to it. The bathroom is sizable with lots of full length mirrors. It’s very nice that they deliver breakfast which is quite basic, but we appreciated that the fruit was very fresh. It was is super easy to walk everywhere in Monterey. "

"In order of the review categories, more or less.... 1) we were in the very first room in the hallway off the main lobby and it was LOUD, night and day. 2) front desk staff were very courteous, but management is abhorrent. See my NOTE below. 3) hotel was about a 15 minute walk down to the wharf, but not much else going for its location. 4) breakfast is very simple fare, but located in a tiny room which was overwhelmed by the morning crowd with insufficient seating. "During our stay there was ongoing construction, and we were woken up as early as 6 a.m. by loud banging noises. On top of that, both the pool and hot tub were out of order, which was very disappointing. The room itself did not feel clean. The floors felt dirty, and the bedding had stains, hair, and crumbs on it, making it seem like the sheets hadn’t been properly washed or changed. "Great hotel! Very eclectic vibe. My girlfriend and I stayed here for our anniversary and had a great experience. The included breakfast, rooftop bar, and jetted tub were a very nice touch. The only room for improvement is the bed and tv. Our bed was very firm and hard to sleep on, and our tv couldn’t connect to internet so I had to connect my phone hotspot to stream on Netflix. We spent most days out of the hotel so the tv wasn’t a huge deal but I was definitely ready to get back to my own bed...
