The rooms are spacious in layout, but some details reveal signs of wear—for example, the faucets show oxidation and limescale, the towels are frayed from repeated washing, the quilt is very thin, and the duvet cover feels as though it has been washed thousands of times. For an international hotel chain, I would have expected a higher standard. On the plus side, the breakfast is very extensive, with many authentic local snacks and dishes for guests to try. The service staff are also very friendly and welcoming."

"Stayed one night at Royal Shanaya Villa, 3 bedroom. Loved the luxurious bed and private pool. It was clean and in great condition. The grounds of the property are amazing. The shuttle was quite fun! Contra: the river could be cleaned up. There is construction next to our villa."
