The rooms are spacious in layout, but some details reveal signs of wear—for example, the faucets show oxidation and limescale, the towels are frayed from repeated washing, the quilt is very thin, and the duvet cover feels as though it has been washed thousands of times. "The hotel and staff were awesome. In some areas only gave a 4 star rating because our room smell wasn't good. I'm not sure if it was only our room though. Maybe should have asked for a different room. Maybe it was because of the humidity. But very strong unpleasant smell. "

"Stayed one night at Royal Shanaya Villa, 3 bedroom. Loved the luxurious bed and private pool. It was clean and in great condition. The grounds of the property are amazing. The shuttle was quite fun! Contra: the river could be cleaned up. There is construction next to our villa."
