"The Kiln Hotel in Wakefield has the look and feel of a run down American Motel that has been abandoned several decades ago. Desperately in need of refurbishment it appears that the new owners have not made any improvements since taking over from Campanile Hotels. The room I stayed in for 1 night looked as if it had not been decorated for 20 years and still had a lingering odour of Cigarette smoke. "We stayed for one night and had a very pleasant experience. The front desk staff was polite and very helpful.Our room was clean and a good size, with a comfortable bed and strong Wi-Fi. Breakfast was simple with fresh pastries and coffee, but tasty. The location is central and close to town Centre.For the price, this hotel offers great value and We would stay here again."

"Booked the property but only found out that there is no food or breakfast after booking it. The reason was the same when I had booked it several months ago. This should be stated on the main Expedia site. After that there was no hot water in two rooms booked. Another message at a very short notice. Had to book another hotel and informed will be sorted as fault was known. Next day same message and when called indicate water was Ok. Next night water leaking from the ceiling and again no hot water....

"First time at this place..stayed for three nights . Rooms wlare extremely clean and the staff are what makes this place..really friendly and professional. Breakfast is also excellent. Highly recommend as a short stop over"

"Overall we had a lovely stay, only thing we thought was a bit disappointing was the main bar didnt open till 4pm on the sunday but the lady on reception at 1pm went above and beyond and sorted us some drinks so we could sit and relax in reception."

"Exceeded expectations all round. Unusual for uk pub bedrooms.. air conditioning! lovely bedroom above the pub, well appointed, comfortable and quiet once closed. New Owners Becks and Tony super helpful and welcoming. Pub itself also great. Will definitely be back in the future"

"We only stayed one night here to break our journey south, but would be more than happy to stay here again. Lovely good sized room with air conditioning which was great as it was 35C. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. We ate in the Jacobite restaurant which had a good selection of meals on offer. We had a lovely breakfast the next morning with plenty of choices available."

"Bathroom had a good shower Worse thing about this hotel was the let down on the key card wouldn’t open door every time we went out If had been by myself I would have been very very worried we tried everything one lady from reception brought up a machine to try it BUT next morning back to square one. I was disappointed as it was for me to try this hotel for me to come by myself when I come back to Barnsley to visit my family"

"I got a great price on Hotels.com. The communications were good and I was emailed the codes for entry. Good parking in the courtyard. My room was bright, clean and comfortable. The shower was good & toiletries and an excellent towel provided. There were coffee making facilities."
