"Whilst the accommodation is basic, it’s comfortable and well located by the sea front in Shields. A few minor irks could be easily improved upon ( luke warm tea for breakfast, instant coffee!!! , not even filtered, full breakfast is good, but a smaller portion of beans would do most people) . Otherwise it’s value for money "

"We loved the hotel! - Great room with comfy beds and good powerful shower. We got two proper double beds rather than than the usual double bed+futon arrangement, so that was great. - Helpful and friendly staff. - Amazing breakfast - Great location - And the kids certainly enjoyed the pool (although it needs an adult to be in the pool with them) - The wife loved the decor, and is now looking to get our house redone..."

"Staff not very friendly. Operation manager that served us in the bar very abrupt and unfriendly. Bar more like a canteen. Pillows hard. Room too warm. Air con kept switching off. Stayed at innside by melia previous week and was 100 % better"

"Firstly it took over 10minutes for receptionist to come over and give us our key for room. She was also working on the bar, so reception was unmanned. It took the third attempt of ringing bell before we were seen to. Considering we had an accessible room it was tiny and one side of the bed was a few inches from the wall. Bathroom was adequate with a walkin showr, though no bath mat was provider to step out on to."

"Good location for The Glasshouse with a nearby bus to go into Newcastle. Room was fine and clean. Had Pizza in bar on evening which was lovely. Breakfast was adequate, could have been a bit hotter but was fine. "
