"Umaya is a great place to stay if you want to just relax. The food options are limited but they do have a good dinner. The down side is that it is far from the main village of placencia and they only offer two times of free transport otherwise you have to pay. Rooms were clean and spacious…we love how our room was right off the beach and pool."

"Authentic hotel to stay at. Beautiful. Note, there is a lot of seaweed so you can’t go in the water. Well you can a little on the left hand side. There are a lot of waves. I saw a couple go to the pier and jumped in for their daily swim. Also, the price for diner or anything you purchase at hotel from spa to food or anything else, it’s US Dollars. "We stayed 3 nights at the resort and liked the location. It was off season so it was very empty. The food was overpriced and not so good. We had better food off site. The no see mosquitoes were horrendous and we wished the property would tend to that problem better."
