The host was super responsive and sent delivered more wood for us quickly. The town of Selfoss is 5-6 kilometers and has nice dining options. "All the staff was so great! Always friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed getting our northern lights wake up call. Food and drinks were good. Can be a bit overwhelming when the tour busses come in, but we would stay again. Lots of dining, shopping and grocery stores. Conveniently located on the highway leading into the Golden Circle. Great no frills stay and for a small fee, a nice spa area."

"We stayed here for one night, hoping to catch a glimpse of the Aurora Borealis while sleeping under the open sky. It got cloudy, so we didn’t get the spectacle we were hoping for. However, this didn’t diminish the experience of sleeping among the trees in a cozy, warm bubble. It was –2°C and it even snowed during the night, but the warm air blown into the tent, two blankets and an electric blanket made sure we stayed perfectly comfortable. "We stayed at Farmhouse Lodge’s Chicken house for 2 days before Christmas and absolutely loved it. The Chicken house has everything- fully equipped kitchen, comfortable beds and bathroom. The location is wonderful since you can go and see several waterfalls and black sands beaches near by. Highly recommend to anyone who likes to explore that area of Iceland."
