"Rooms were clean and it was lovely to have a breakfast included with a wide range of options. There were gathering areas in both the sunroom and a greenhouse that were very relaxing and set up well for small or larger groups. "

"Love the style of this hotel. We actually got an unexpected room… it was the top floor so the ceiling was actually slanted as it was the roof of the building. We hit our head a few times, but it was so unique for us that we didn’t mind. Beds were comfy and everything was clean. Breakfast the next morning was the best we’ve had and was included in our stay. We loved the variety. Parking was right in front of the building as well and easy to access. Overall would stay again!"

"Hotel Laxa is located by lake myvatn, a little further away from all the farmhouses which puts in a quiet location with views all round of Myvatn and still convenient. The staff at hotel are extremely helpful and friendly. They have a nice bar with quiet places for work and a game room as well. I stayed for 3 nights and loved it, and would highly recommend."

"For that cost, the room was super basic - I have seen private hospital rooms with better amenities. No television, no hot water kettle, no fridge - but the worst? No elevator! Or actually one that only goes up to first floor (mine was on the 3rd floor). Had to get my change of clothes for the night and the next day by opening my suite case in the car trunk. Hotel staff is incredibly rude and unaccommodating. Breakfast was included - basic affair. Have had such a great experience in Iceland that...

"Limited availability of dinner, we did not have dinner. The shower was so small that I would touch the shower curtains with every minor move. The flushing of toilet was associated with a jet-engine like thunder, so in order not to make my wife up I didn’t flush the toilet for whole night and drain it with pouring water instead. There were tons of annoying flies outside. Not a very pleasant experience"

"The location is very good - close to the city center, but far enough to be very quiet and peaceful. The views are amazing. The hotel room was large - much larger than rooms in any comparably priced hotel in Iceland and in much of Europe. The facility and the rooms are updated, clean, and functional.
