"I wish I had known about this place earlier as my daughter has graduated from University of Massachusetts and is moving away from Amherst, but I highly recommend the black walnut Inn if you’re in Amherst for any reason!!"

"Excellent experience especially that we could bring our dog. Only negative event was trying to retrieve a phone charger left in room 424 a few hours after check out. Front desk staff was not very responsive to trying to retrieve it as housekeeping had left for the day and offered zero recourse for searching for it. Very disappointing and not helpful. "

"Was clean, could have had chair at desk, cups, box of tissues. Staff was very nice and polite. "

"Rooms were large and very clean. Large bottles of shampoo in shower."

"Slept with the windows open listening to the water going over the dam, wish we had more time to hang out and explore. We will be back! "

"What is not to love about being welcomed into Richard and Ruth’s home. They are wonderful hosts and spent hours talking to us both during our stay. The house is an amazing building and learning about its history was wonderful. We walked into the tiny town and got some dinner, lovely options available. We can not wait to visit again and will be recommending anyone travelling around this area should certainly book a stay."

"I enjoyed staying at the EconoLodge. My room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom fan was loud, but that is minor. I was moving a freshmen into college so the hotel’s location near Bed Bath and Beyond, Target and Walmart was very convenient. I did hear while I was there that the hotel will be temporarily used as dorm rooms for UMass. The students will be getting some pretty swanky dorm rooms. This is as of August 2022. I am not sure how long UMass will be renting the hotel, or if they are...
