"The property is situated near North Berwick and has beautiful gardens. The building itself is a bit tired. Our room was disappointing for the grade of hotel. Coffee facilities were basis (one packet of two pieces of shortbread to share!). The cooked breakfast was lovely but the continental selection was very poor compared to similar hotels and given that one of the main selling points of the hotel is the Chez Roux restaurant. "Arriving at the property was confusing because the sign says Linton Restaurant with rooms not the Linton Hotel. Check in was fine and the staff were very helpful, We had booked for 3 nights but the room (Room 5) did not even resemble any of the rooms shown on the property website. The room was very small you can’t even open the door fully without it hitting the bed. There was no headboard on the bed and wall where the headboard should be had black greasy stains from the heads of previous...

"Great location for getting around Edinburgh, and having a bar downstairs is a nice bonus. The room made a great first impression and was clean and comfortable. It could do with a little TLC in places, but for the price it was excellent value for money. There's also on-site parking and a lovely pub garden at the rear, which was a nice added touch."

"Though an old building, it is very well maintained. Very clean and the host (Alice) very friendly and helpful. it is beautifully placed and our room overlooked the Musselburgh Racecourse/ golfing green. Breakfast (though continental) was very nice and you were able to choose what you wanted and at what time and this was brought up to your room in a lovely basket. Our whole stay there was lovely and would definitely stay there again :)"

"Very clean and convenient. A little strange that I had to give my license plate number as they have a private park ing ticketing company given parking tickets out. I guess it's a way to make money off guest if they forget to punch in. Stayed in Hotels all over the world, but never seen this tourist trap before."
