We arrived at night time to the serenity of this cabin and the sleep was incredible being out in the countryside. Waking up to the highland cows in the morning right outside of the window was magical. The price at $150 usd a night is a little high but the experience and peace and worth it.
Clean with all necessary amenities and great views. Safe and the area is quiet, however the walls are thin and you can hear the people in the adjacent room.
Quick and easy drive to town or a decently long but doable walk.
The cows were fun to see but you can't pet them.
Overall, we enjoyed the stay.
Second time staying here, and it certainly won't be the last. Great location, only 1.5mile walk into the local town with great amenities, pubs and restaurants etc. The cabins are basic but spotlessly clean, and actually contain everything you need. The beds are really comfirtable. Secure parking with keycode entry and highland cows in the front garden. Just lovely

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
Overpriced for what is essentially a small motel room. Nice view and the Highland Cows are it’s only saving grace. Very disappointed
The lodge including kitchenware, beddings, etc was clean and tidy. The highlight is with highland cows as neighbour.
Check in and check out are super easy.
30 mins drive from Edinburgh City centre. Idea to avoid staying in much more expensive and crowded area without acceptable travel time.
The environment was very quite and cozy. We had a very comfortable stay. Especially the Highland cows make children super excited and impressed!
Thank you!
Amazing little property,communication fantastic!
I stayed here the night prior to my wedding. On arrival,i was welcomed with a lovey card wishing me well for my wedding day and a lovely box of chocolates.
The room which is open planned had a double bed which was very comfortable. The shower was fab and powerful. And shampoo and body wash was provided.
We were surprised to see all the highland cows in the morning, which was lovely..over all i would definately return .
Do not search for the property by address, put it in GPS by "Orchard House Lodges". If you put in the address that the text/email gives you, it puts you across the highway on a little street, which is very confusing. Once you find it, the lodges are very quaint, little, quiet, and cute. The coos are right outside your window in the morning which was a very nice surprise and it was very worth it :) Thank you for a great stay
The lodge room was cozy and comfortable. Very comfortable beds and very clean. There were many great amenities in the room like hot plate, toaster oven, mini fridge, and tea kettle. The shower had amazing water pressure and after long days of activities in Edinburgh like Arthur's seat, it was just what we needed to feel fresh and relaxed. I loved the heilan coos right outside. They were so cute and ended up being the only ones I saw on my trip to Scotland. Wished I could pet them but I understand. When I was stood taking pictures of them, my hand brushed up against a plant that had my finger stinging badly for a few hours. Not sure what it was, some type of nettle maybe? But it would be nice if those were removed from areas where guests may come into contact. Overall I would recommend orchard house lodges for anyone wanting a low key, cozy and comfortable get away in the countryside.
Lovely peaceful setting on a farm. Room beautifully laid out with modern facilities. Every detail thought of. Easy reach to local town of Haddington which has host of different shops and bus stop with fast bus into Edinburgh.
A quaint little lodge outside of Edinburgh with a beautiful view (of fuzzy highland cows)! Stayed in Chonzie Lodge for 1 night and the stay was really comfortable!
