"Very nice lady on reception. Paid for breakfast which was not as ordered. We gave exact instruction as items to be very well cooked, this was not the case and did not have time to return it! The water in the shower was freezing. Plus the extractor very noisy. Parking was great and bus service very close. Enjoyed drinks in the bar, such a pity the other major things were not up to scrach. "

"Exellent Superior room, spacious and clean room, superking size bed, on the hard side but suited us, lovely foyer and bar area, very friendly and helpful staff. Location suited us with plenty parking ( you have to pay but this is getting normal these days), lovely to walk along the riverbank into Durham, We only used the Restaurant for breakfast ( which was included) nice selection for breakfast which we enjoyed..We would definitely use again if in Durham.."

"Good location for walking into Durham city. Good carpark on site. Room clean but very hot even without radiator on. Could possibly be noisey in high season as our room over main entrance and smoking area. Staff friendly and attentive. Food adequate. Seemed very pet friendly, ideal for guests with dogs. Website said there is a safe located in the bedrooms, there was no safe in our room. "

"Room was tiny (booked a superior double) and not overly clean (dust all headboard and bathroom needed a more thorough clean!) Walls are paper thin and could hear everything from next door (daughters got woken by their next door neighbours returning back at 1:30am) Very short staffed so long wait times. Food was mixed- steak was v v oily but beef pie was lovely (veg and potatoes cold though) Breakfast wasn’t great, rock hard poached and fried eggs, microwaved defrosted ciabatta (not toasted) and supermarket bought waffles. Bit disappointing really, probably won’t stay again"
