"Absolutely magical place to stay! The rooms were immaculate, beds very comfy, and the staff wonderful! The floor we stayed on was accessible by a small spiral staircase; large enough to get suitcases up, but perhaps not the most accessible so bear that in mind when booking. Would highly recommend taking time to walk the grounds and throughout the castle during your stay!"

"Two night stay in a seemingly smart hotel with great golfing and spa facilities, However, there are disappointing signs of tiredness including a shower tray with ingrained dirt, and threadbare, ripped sheets. "To be honest it's ok for a one night stay. The staff are great but the building itself is a health risk, with holes hidden in the floor underneath the carpet. I went over in one and twisted my ankle . Every time you walk across the bedroom floors they creek and bend as you walk . The dinner was a rip off. The fish was supposed to be fresh ? No it was frozen what I call ding ding food . The chopped a small potato into cubes and put tomato relish with it. £26 wow ! Yes it's old I understand that...

"The air conditioning in the hotel was not working, which I was not told until discovering it for myself in my room. I was offered a fan, but this was inadequate as the room had windows that only opened a few inches and was facing a busy road. The room was hot, noisy, and if we wanted air we were unable to keep the curtains closed against the bright lights outside. Our room overlooked a courtyard containing an open dumpster full of trash. "Avoid a room above the bar because of the noise. I think it must get its 3 star rating from the rooms in the new areas. The food was very mediocre. For food I would recommend The Fox Hole which is around a 5 minute walk. The setting saved my stay because it was lovely to sit by the river. The staff were very nice."

"We booked a superior king room room very spacious but very dark overlooking the car park so would book privilege room if we go again. Food was lovely both evening meal and breakfast. Again the bar overlooking the car park such a shame, we still had a lovely time and would return"
